The CPU temp in the bios is 52 C. My room temp I think is 20-25 C. The CPU temp worries me. Should I be worried?
I'm running (left out stuff re: PSU etc):
Phanteks Enthool
Sabertooth Z-97 Mk. 2 Mobo
i7-4790
EVGA GTX970

Here's a review of the chip from an overclocker's perspective. Tom's Hardware is an excellent resource for all things computer hardware, btw.

You're good. Intel says 72C is normal. If it starts to hit 90, then start worrying.

Thanks!
On both counts.

be worried when it starts throttling.
and btw do yourself a favor and buy a good CPU-cooler.

Generally you should try to keep the temperature below 60c. Anything higher would mean you need a cooling upgrade before you even try to overclock.

According to Intel, it only starts throttling after it hits 105C. I'm not worried.

I think I'll give it a bit to get used to the system first before I get a sense of how hot it runs stock and whether my cooling solution is efficient. And whether I need a non-stock CPU cooler.
