In the previous games we could pause, cycle thought our party members, and send them reasonable distances to collect loot at the fours corners of wherever you were significantly reducing time spent collecting. Why can't we now? Why must only the controlled party member be able to pick up loot? This gets tedious when there are 10-ish items to collect in an area and you have to go to each one.

If this is to prevent the computer from "figuring" out how to get that shard 50 feet above you with no foreseeable means of acquiring, then simply cause party members not to attempt to find object "x distance of travel" from where they are.

Some of these shards are in impossible areas, a scan and pull feature -like telekinesis would be helpful for many items

I wish there was some sort or quick looting function. Having to check dropped items one by one doesn't make the game more fun.

Area loot like Wasteland 2 would be great for after battles.

As for resources, I'd have an upgradeable resource capacity which just gets completely filled up whenever you find the relevant resource node (they'd be a lot rarer, obv). Grats you found a source of Elfroot, now you have 30 Elfroot. You found a source of Obsidian, now you have 30 Obsidian.

Crafting is fun. The sheer amount of busy work involved in gathering resources for it isn't fun whatsoever. At times it feels more like Dragon Age: Pick Stuff Up.

You will have a riot on your hands if you design it that way. There are people who believe adamantly that the only way to grant is to pick up each individual elf root leaf.

I agree.  Need a party or area loot option that can be enabled/disabled.  If some folks prepare to mine/pick resource nodes one by one...let them have it. but give us lazy folks an option to press a single key to loot everything around.  :D
