One annoying thing about STEEEEEEVE is that he will never stop listening to that damn recording unless you go over and talk to him. Yet when you when you talk to him you can't be a proper renegade and tell him to get his act together and act like an officer or you'll throw him out the airlock. No dialogue option for that. I play as a renegade the rest of the time so why is Shepard forced into the some sensitive response?
And that voice recording was soap-opera level cringe. DON'T MAKE ME AN ANCHOR!
They really couldn't have been more obvious about the whole thing unless they put a flashing sign above his said saying "Grieving openly gay guy! Look at how progressive we are!" Bioware doesn't seem to understand subtlety.
I think the problem here is that everybody focuses on the fact that he's gay.

I take all the credit for this threads fun! You are all very welcome for the entertainment!

Indeed.

Well... at least Cortez was better handled then Traynor, whose entire reason for existing it seemed was to tease M!Shep or turn teen boys on with that dumb "lesbians are hot" shower scene ![]()

It was not. That scene is never shown if you play as a male versus the scene with Cortez which is only avoidable if you avoid the cargo deck for the rest of the game.

Would you have preferred a "lesbians are fugly" scene? ![]()
Cortez was pretty funny though.

Eh, I found Cortez whining about his dead spouse far less annoying than when Carth did the same thing.

What I didn't like about the Cortez scene was he was watching while he was working. What about welding a space ship made him think "now would be a good time to watch the video". If you're gonna have a moment, then do it on your own time!!!
Damn Mexicans.

You know what's better?
Not romancing any of them.
You'll actually forget they're craving for your unmentionables.
Obviously, but it was also really obvious that the scene was designed as T&A, the half-assed romance just made it worse, Cortez & M!Shep are treated as a relationship while Traynor & F!Shep honestly seemed more like some fling IMO, hell Cortez seemed more like a full character while Traynor hardly had any content
Fair enough. But whether or not the relationships seem real or genuine is not something I want to get into. It ends up going in circles and everyone has their preferences, so on and so forth.

Tsk tsk tsk! How dare you all?! You scared the kid away! He hasn't posted a single word for hours, high-jacking his thread like that!
At least I was nice and helpful to him! ![]()

Yeah, probably better to drop it, a random alien to lighten the mood ![]()

He's probably posting in his other thread.
Amazing how Carth embodies the worst of Kaidan and the worst of Cortex. I wanted to kill Carth more than I wanted to kill Malak.

I'm glad I had this opportunity, and was able to discuss and even criticize, homosexual content in a video game, without being branded homophobic. Although it wasn't a complete success given that it was insinuated a few times. Still... it's a kind of progress. ![]()
