Skyhold Pajamas, Can I Rule in Something More Appropriate?

The clothing we are forced to wear in Skyhold is...well ugly. I am wearing my Pajama's in real life, lounging, drinking tea, but in the game I want a crown and some epic looking robe or armor or something. Can we get some cosmetic options for Skyhold clothing? Or how about the option to wear our battle armor in Skyhold atleast? (as this is a quick fix for bioware)

I searched the forum but couldn't find anything about this in suggestions, though I can't imagine no one posted anything. Anyway sorry if this has been asked before.

Agreed! Bioware can even make it so we can find "casual attire" schematics to craft our own casual attire.

The formal attire that you get would be perfect, I think. You get the schematics for it after the party. I think you should get them as soon as you arrive at skyhold and make them however you want them to look. I had a nice blue wasn't able to wear it at skyhold. I thought it looked very nice. It looks kind of ugly at the party but different materials make it look a lot better.

Apparently, there appears to be some controversy over the outfit you are supposed to wear in Skyhold.  Two twitter users questioned @dragonage about this.  One user (kalabalik) is here and the other (Kat Chapa) is here .  Initially, the users received a response from @dragonage that said the current outfit is a known issue, at least implying it was not what was intended.  However, if you visit the first URL I provided you will see that Kat Chapa mentions that @dragonage deleted its responses to kalabalik.  A screenshot of the original @dragonage reply follows:

However in a December 11, 2014 conversation with Kat Chapa, Bioware's Mark Darrah (@BioMarkDarrah) is somewhat ambiguous indicating that "There is a special Skyhold outfit".  Whether or not this special outfit is the current Skyhold outfit is left unclear.

Known issue is code for 'we didn't realize we would be so universally hated for pajamas at skyhold so we are patching this as we speak and you'll have something much better once we figure out what it looks like.'

yep. And anyone who can't read that is sadly very gullible.

On brighter news, apparently the cheaters in the world have fixed the issue. Cheat Engine offers a Skyhold outfit toggle that allows you to wear your armor in Skyhold.

Go figure. <_<

They've have plenty of concept art with great looking Inquisitor gear.

I'm not sure if they don't have time for minor details so they scrap it, or they might add it in the future.

But I would love to see more things added like that into the game without needing things like cheats, maybe even cloaks.

It just feels like we're getting burned seeing all the good stuff that never make it into the game.

I hate them so much T_T They're ugly and unfashionable and OOC and they clip through my Qunari's face and highlight my elf's broken mutant arms and-and

That may turn out to be true, however the fact that @dragonage deleted its original reply is troublesome.  If Bioware is working on a solution, why delete the Tweet?  Add to that the fact that Mark Darrah didn't respond to Kat Chapa's follow-up question, and I will believe Bioware did not intend the Inquisitor to wear pajamas when I see it.  I certainly hope Bioware is working on releasing a more appropriate outfit for the Inquisitor to wear at Skyhold, and will be disappointed (but not too surprised) if it turns out that is not the case.

I get a lot of people don't like them...but why are they called pajamas? Not once during my entire playthrough did I think..."Those are my pajamas".

Just because you guys think the outfit is ugly doesn't mean it's inappropriate...nothing about the outfit says pajamas.

I haven't done this intentionally yet, but apparently if you are anywwhere outside Skyhold and remove your Inquisitor's armor, your Inquisitor ends up wearing his / her undergarments which at least somewhat resemble "pajamas".

This. I did this with my Qunari at the beginning, and yep. Under all your armor is that outfit.

Plus...it does look a bit like pjs. (or long underwear)

Pajamas because if you have lived in the north where it is colder, you've maybe hung around the house in some flannel PJs or lounge wear that looks very much like this right down to the UGG looking boots.

I suspect that maybe they deleted it because some fool at EA or BW got the idea that it should be part of DLC. Oh look! New casual wear at skyhold! Perhaps they didn't realize it wasn't a patch but was actually meant to be DLC. One thing EA and BW know is we like choices in looks meaning hair, meaning attire, meaning armor - and sadly they know we will pay for them. How much do you think they made off the ME2 armors for crew and Shepard? I'm ashamed to admit that I purchased it. Of course, by the time it is released I will likely be done with this game or perhaps considering getting a better gaming rig rather than sticking with PS4 which means I will just use mods that I can find and leave it at that. That's the awesome thing about PC - if they make fugly hair, fugly armors, fugly casual attire - you can fix it! People think it's about cheating but there are umpteen things you can do in this game to 'cheat' if you choose. Really PC is about taking back control so you game looks better as companies are often very daft at that part.

It really doesn't help that the first time you see the causal outfit, you are waking up in Haven after the prologue.

You know I think this is a great idea, and would easily add tons of style to the game. You never use the formal attire on the battlefield because the stats arent really great anyway. Change these to skyhold clothing options. Quick and easy fix that's awesome.

I had formal attire that was about 215 but that was with warrior materials I think. However, I think that low stats for skyhold is appropriate. After Haven you'd want to have some kind of stats just in case. I like the idea of making my own because they would look right for me. You could have a few for fun! Also I think it looks like the just right mixture of professional with a touch of military to it without too overboard. I hated the look of it in the quest but when I made one just out of curiosity, it was a nice blue - royal blue with the tiniest hint of gold trim. I was wishing I was on PC and someone could make it a mod to replace those jammies. Instant love I tell ya. Instant!

To me, the tweets sounded like they misunderstood the issue (standing in underwear), and gave the wrong answer, so they deleted it.

I'd love new casual wear, but I hope it's not going to be an "Appearance Pack" (no horse armor plz) that you have to pay for.

I wouldn't be upset with the DLC Appearance Pack if it included something else...

Like a Judgement pack where you get a king's outfit or something with crown and scepter, and 20 new people to judge from your throne. That maybe too silly for this game, but Im just giving an example where the clothing makes sense and comes with something else. However Starlitegirl's comment really was a good suggestion as the game is already built with the formal attires and it would be an easy fix for Bioware.

Can we get a Bioware comment?

No?
