I am currently finishing Witch Hunt expansion pack for DAO and will be starting a new DA II game. I have started many characters but never actually finished the game.

 

First time I played I was a rogue, and I couldnt get past the main Qunari batlle. I started again with a warrior and did better but got stuck somewhere else.

 

I put my failures down to incorrect point allocation and investing in useless or weak talents.

 

I will be creating a mage and was wondering if there are any out there who have played a mage that might have some words of advice when it comes to levelling up.

I don't know what difficulty you play on, but I prefer to have spells that prevent movement. Ice based spells and the Rock "skill tree" are a must to battle the Arishok. Then just spam your strongest skills!
