Having problem with load screen as well.
Used the 'Fix' which just cut out initial load screen as said before, got to the part with maranda and the illusive man and that lags like s**t. After that I just closed out of it to see what I can do

As far as i am concerned with PC games, is that if my single core's GHz are more or equal to that of what is said a duo needs (take the number it gives you -1.8 in this case- times by two -3.6- then subtract half of the 1.8 -.9- which ends up being 2.7) and if the number is less than the single core, you should be fine.
Not sure how exactly it works, my brother has always used that to see if games could run on our single core and they always have.
So just as many others said before, it must be a bug. A really effed up one I might add
And for the people that say just play it and skip all the cutscene, well I payed for a game so I can experiance all parts of it. Skipping them takes out so much of the game.
This is an issue with the single core processor. it's why our minimum spec for the PC doesnt include your particular box.

I can't offer any solution right now, as there are way too many variables out there. I will have an engineer take a look at this tomorrow, though. It's obviously not the 'single-core' issue that we thought it was. In the meantime, keep an eye out from any new announcements from Chris Priestly with regards to this, and i will update him as i get information.
Ill still be around, but I need to get back to PM work to make sure our PC patch schedule is on-track (yes, we are planning a PC patch in the near future... but unfortunately any new issues since launch will have to be in a POTENTIAL second patch)
PS- don't try to modify the coalesced.ini file, it reads garbled because its actually encrypted on the game build side, so any alteration will undoubtedly cause your game to crash.

Oh and when the game is fully installed it is just under 12gb. It's not 15gb like the box says, I've heard that the installer has a problem but ive checked most .rar and they there. Unless im missing something.
the box specs a conservative number for our largest SKU. that is why. ~12gb sounds about right for english.

We're still trying to find a common denominator between all of them.
Btw, good point. Pinning.

I have one QA and one Engineer looking at this forum right now and trying to find commonality between all of the posts.
Many of you have been helpful so far in providing useful information. To continue this, let's keep the conversation to..
1. What the issue you are seeing is, and where.
2. Your hardware specs (as reported by the configuration utility)
3. Your *actual* hardware specs (if there is any difference between what you see in the config util and what you have reported in your BIOS).
This forum is officially to deal with the problem of load screen freezes and crashes (most *likely* related to single core). Any other random crash reporting will just dirty the thread and slow down the solution process.
Now heres my disclaimer: Our min specs are listed as dual core for a reason, and based on this, we were able to architect it slightly differently. It doesn't matter that your game worked well w/ Batman (just because we both use Unreal) - ME2 is an entirely different game. We are looking at it, and we are hearing you loud and clear. We may find a solution, we may find a workaround, but we also may have no recourse.
We will keep you updated!

To be clear, the fix does ONLY impact single core users (as well as dual core users who only have one core reported by their operating system (beyond our control). As a result, this is lower than our min-spec, so it's not a matter of "not testing the game". We're doing this so we can create the best game possible, and make sure that everyone is able to play.
Ill post more information as I get it. We will try to release this second patch in a timely manner, but we also want to make sure any patch does not create new issues.
In the meantime, I encourage users to try some of the 'home grown' solutions no this thread (which, by the way are very clever), and also encourage those with dual core machines which are being reported as single core to try and find a source of that (again, outside the scope and beyond the control of BioWare).
Thanks.

They don't work in weekends,perhaps?
Michael will most likely answer tomorrow about more details of the patch,in the meanwhile, stop reposting/cloning/spamming and just read back, everything is explained.
Cheers.
of course we work weekends, however there are other important issues that need addressing too.
i really hate to sound like a broken record, but the simple fact is that the min-spec was explicitly listed as dual core. there's a lot of double talk going on on this forum. but i just want to see, from what you have all posted, and what we have seen, this IS a single core issue. the folks that have two RECOGNIZED cores and are still having an issue must be crashing from another (notnearly as widespread) issue.
believe it or not, (by far) the vast majority of people who have purchased the game do have dual core, and are not hitting any issues.
having said that, - again - we are looking at seeing what we can do for a proper fix (and again, NO promises). we have patch 1 coming out in the next few weeks, but the fix to this will have to go into patch TWO (if at all).
don't worry, we are reading this thread and we are aware of the issues. whether or not we can come up with a patchable solution to the issues remains to be seen.
once i can give a conclusive answer, i will.

Please understand the situation we're in Bioware, 140+ people can't play the game and are waiting for an update. I understand the problem isn't that important and they're might be no fix at all.
of course we understand the situation you're all in. its why we're looking into it.

We have summarized the items into a list of issues that we will take a look at fixing. Currently no delivery date is planned for a fix, and i will let you know as i have details. We *are* looking at this and are identifying our options for a fix.
I have created a new thread here: http://social.biowar...06/index/905917 which outlines the issues we are looking at.
I am locking this thread (as there has become a lot of non-information here).
