upon reading another thread, i decided to update my video drivers. turns out they were out of date anyways. maybe you all can try that too.

Having the same problem; tried to load a saved game and crashing during the loading screen.



I really hope all us single-core processor people are not just out of luck.

I also have the same issue. All my drivers are currently up to date, and I bought mine via Steam. I've tried messing with all the settings to see if that was the problem, but to no avail. I'm in the process of redownloading the game via Steam, since I had it pre-loaded. Hopefully, that'll do something.

Also, I too have a single core AMD processor, which I suspect is the culprit.

Someone on here claimed they had a Quad-Core. So, it might not be the case.

possibly, or maybe it wasn't a related incident, but if we keep getting more and more single cores with the same issue in this thread, i'm gonna say its more than coincidence.

I promise, i have an intel core 2 duo quad processor, so it is impossible to blame the processor here.

yes, i have an old videocard, but it lets me play dragon age on reduced settings just fine.

i had to restart myself in queue too. I went to lower all the settings for the game, even lowered resolutiont o 800X600 or w/e and still it freezez on loading. I think there may just be a problem with opening cinematic.

i think it is bad news here guys...... the queue is moving really fast.....that dosen't usually mean it's good news. Good news is where they walk you through to a conclusion(takes time). Bad news is when they just tell you, sorry about your luck(dosen't take any time at all).

I'm having the same problem on the first loading screen it freezes up while the music still loops, tried importing and starting a completely new character but both don't work here my specs.

how could they have NOT known about this. I am absolutely certain the developers didn't finsih making this game last night, for goodness sake. They had to have known about it. too many people with problems to have not known about it.

Well I followed and read the link from earlier in this thread. The suggestion was when you get to the screen that says "press any key to continue" right before the main menu to let it sit and run thru the opening trailer.

Now before I tried it I went straight to the main menu with no lag but when starting a new game I froze right away on the loading screen So I tried the "wait for the opening movie" thing. First once then twice then three times. Each time I got more and more lag going to and in the main menu but I made it thru the loading screen.

I imported and made a new character, and each time with no lag but as soon as the first movie starts the lag is horrible. The sound plays thru fine but the video just lags really bad. I timed it and almost 2 minutes to get thru a sentance.

Yes a ole single core...  guess I lump it, wait for a patch, or tax refund season when I was planning up starting from scratch

I got mine through D2D, just like the original 2 weeks ago. hmmmmmm......, I might just try to activate the .exe manually like i had to for ME1..... this time after i talk with tech. support tho, so i don't lose my place in line.

Guess I'll throw my hat in the ring here too. I bought the digital download version of the game and it's doing the exact same thing as everyone else's seems to be doing. As soon as I sit through the gruelingly long intro cutscene for what seems like the 10,000th time, I get to the "Lazarus Project" load screen...then crash to desktop. Wonderful. How many stockholders demanded this game hit the streets 6 weeks before it was actually ready?

I had bought the Digital Deluxe Edition of ME2 via EA Store, I have the req specs to play the game.
But from the main menu to the game itself it lags like hell [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie], all my stuff is updated with lates drivers and software.

To get out the game i have to Alt Tab and close it from windows itself!
Because it takes like a 1min to few mins before it reacts to my command when im inside the game. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]

I just want to freaking play! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie]
