i've been up 24 hours (woke up early to try to catch a few hours of ME2 before work).
i'm going to go jump on youtube and watch one of the many ME2 playthroughs that have been posted on fullscreen, and pretend i'm playing and i suck as badly as the fool who recorded it, while trying my best to ignore the playthrough narrator's broken english.
pure joy!

I won't be buying another Bioware game until I read on the boards that the issues have been worked out. It helps - now I don't have to look out for release dates.
Hey - anyone on here work at Best Buy? Give a call to my local one and tell 'em to do you a favor and let me exchange a PC copy for a 360 copy will ya? LOL

I realize this more than just simple hardware incompatibility, but I'm just curious. From what I've been reading here, a lot of us have Nvidia based chipsets for the graphics card. Is anyone here using a AMD/ATI video card and having any luck at all running the game?
I have ATI Radeon 4550 isnt the best but should run this ><

Not to mention - the initial failure with DLC for Dragon Age - then, Return to Ostagar - then Zaeed DLC.

I wont be buying any PC games in the future until it is proven software, I'll just wait. EA/BioWare have ruined the PC gaming experience for me.

PC is still superior (opinion) - but Bioware has lost its knack for it.

My current setup runs the game fine at 1680x1050 res with all of the graphic setting turned on other then having one CTD with 8 hours of playing time. The single core system in the house using Windows XP does have the lag lock up problems with the game just like everyone else.
Current Setup System Spec
Intel Quad core 9300
Intel G33 Chipset
6GB Ram
Nvidia 9800 GT 512MB
Windows 7 64 Bit

i dont know but i did as one of the previous posts said, watch the intro cinematic(the one where you dont press any key when it asks you to) and i can start up the game that when, when i did this i took a look at my cpu usage its at 100%. i wonder if its not using my graphics card the same as Champions online did.
Interesting idea because something like this has happened to my killing floor before..but it always realized it wasnt responding and usually worked its way threw..a tad around wave 4 might i add..but itd flood my cpu on load screen and lock up had to manually end processes..kinda sounds familiar, not the same though, I believe the mass effect just hangs on 0 and for me it doesnt realize its not responding>< I think it just goes to show how much companys really care about consumers.

Man - I hate being a whiner. I've officially become one of "those" people - and you know what? It's made me have a lot of sympathy for those who don't get to play something they purchase immediately while I'm having fun.
I think I'll make a point in the future to try to haunt tech-support threads on future PC games to see if there's any info I can offer to help out.
Because THIS blows.

Running a single core GPU, nVidia 8800 GTX, and i'm on vista 64 ultimate. Now, I know from that last one, 90% of you have stoppred reading.
Anyways, if I let it sit through the opening cutscene once, I can get in and play the game fine up to the lazarus scene. The loading screen just after I finish customizing my guy freezes. In the meantime, however, the game runs BEAUTIFULLY. I don't know why you lot are getting stutter or anything, seeing as my system is reasonably sub-par now aside from my graphics card.
The fact that I can't play more than the intro, however, and now bioware's response... I am not a happy customer. Especially considering I preordered the CE.
