I just wanted to chime in ansd say I am having the same exact peroblems as everyone else in this thread. The video lags and stutters. I get 2 seconds of video followed by 5-15 seconds of freezing.



It seems the only video I can get to ever work is the intro movie (when I do not 'Hit any Key') and just like others, when i allow the intro movie to play the entire game interface lags up.



I too have tried all diffrent settings to no avail.



It would be nice if we could atleast be told they will be working on a solution instead of being told it MIGHT be addressed in a "POTENTIAL SECOND patch".

I keep freezing up at second loading screen, after Sheppard falls to space. Game freezed at the import save screen,then i will restart the game, and wait for demo was played, and then i ll start import and was done... After i ll save Joker from Normandy,and game was load, it freeze... I gotta Win7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5, 6GB RAM, MSI P55-GTD65, ATI 4890 1GB, lattest Ati drivers.... DAMN WITH THE GAME!!!!!

Same ****ing problem

I got past the first loading screen one time.

I even got up to building a profile.

but then i got stuck at the next load screen. This bug is literally killing me.

I used the unofficial fix and got the game running, but certain cut scenes lag so bad it takes the fun out of the game. At other areas the game runs splendid though, without any problem.



Odd problem it is.

Yeah I almost have the same problem with the fix. I run it and it lags really bad for some of the intro video then some parts it will play damn smooth and nice. Wtf is wrong with this lol. I know it cant be the disk cuz i tested it at my friends house and it works fine on his pc without the fix, he doesn't get load screen problems.

So, must join the same problem. First loading screen and after a few seconds is frozen. I can not past this loading screen.

Ladies and gentlemen of this specific thread I have received direct confirmation thru EAsupport on the phone that THEY KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE we are experiencing.



I repeat, the techie told me on the phone that they are aware of the PC specific problem with the game freezing up on loading screens for everyone....THEY ARE AWARE!!



The bad news is: There is no official ETA...



His response to my questioning as to why it cannot be fixed was that because of the release date being only yesterday that they have not had enough time to gather the essential information on the problem and figure out 100% where this bug is coming from.



He also stated that as soon as a fix is discovered for the loading screen crash, I will receive an email detailing how it can be fixed. OR he stated that through these forums a Bioware employee will announce an official patch that will be available as soon as the problem is diagnosed.



IE: Keep your eyes open to this technical support forum for a response from Bioware (hopefully)



Once I I receive the information thru emails to solve this problem I will also post the email they send to fix our loading screen crashing problems!!



It's sad that I had to spend almost a total of 4 hours JUST on the phone in order for them to tell me that they are working on it, but the bright side is they have acknowledged our existence and are attempting to fix our issue.



Some speculation on my side: they said in the email response I received yesterday 48-72 hours MAXIMUM before I hear back with the fix, that was last night, around 7-8pm PST...therefor [unfortunately] we can expect a fix by 29th of this month.



Don't forget about the Better Business Bureau!! Let them know your pain so that we can make sure this doesn't happen again.

Want to see something depressing? The following is a list of the 152 (and counting) people
on this ONE forum who have reported the Freezing /Laggy /Jiddering /Crashing issues
that have prevented them from enjoying the product they purchased.

Fun with numbers

Lets say on a low estaminte every one paided $50.00 a whack for Mass Effect 2,
that means over $7600.00 dollars where pocketed by EA & BioWare from they’re
loyal gaming public for a product that does not work and keep in mind thats
just from ONE forum, there are many, many more posts just like this one all
over.  So on average for every 1 person
to complain there are 6 others who do not, wow now we’re talk some numbers, that’s
$46,000 worth of product that is unplayable. 
Anyone else have any snake oil I can buy?

Maybe the EA & BioWare Project Manger(s) that decided to release a
nonfunctioning product should read this article.

Old Republic?  Poor BioWare how far you
have fallen, please don’t become the next LucasArts and release broken,
unfinished games.

But I agree with Prisoner24601 some info about the stuttering video would be nice, if someone happen to have the patience to do so. I have the patience just not the phone, phone battery can't last 3 hour of elevator music and automated message. =p (Ya I know it a crappy phone but good enough for my normal use)

The only thing that works for me, is to use the no intro fix, and to save, quit and reload the save when it starts to stutter in gameplay.

Oh, btw, I also start to get stuttering (in the game and whatever videos may play after its done) whenever I Mass-Relay-Travel to another system. It seems to be related to the video that plays when it happens. I'm going to replace that video as well to see if it helps.

Grooveman03.. it is not the 43 grrr that matters.. that is a very small drop in a probably very expensive game to build, however, if you multiply that by the 10 other major forums and then mutiply that but the next 3 games we are not going to buy that are built by Bioware, that makes difference.. All in all, I am waiting. I too am upset, but I am sure we will get the fix soon.. For now we are all Junkies waiting for our fix.. waiting............................................................................. you know we will either go some place else for our fix or die soon waiting..........................................
