Does the "fix" allow you to see all content or do you skip content?



I'm still really reluctant - past liberal use of "questionable" sites turned my last computer into an artificial intelligence. It would do all sorts of crazy things on its own. I just don't know enough about these places to avoid the wrong ones.

i think he is refering to the fact the EA network is having problems right now. look at the other posts and you'll see people are flaming over the fact they can't setup their cerberus account.

I got the game to launch by uninstalling / reinstalling to the default directory this time (c:\\program files (x86)\\...) - the cerebrus network login hung at "please wait..." - glad this thread prepared me for that or I may have had an anurism.

the patch does remove content. the movie files.

it has had mixed results though. some people said they still froze, others said it skipped the movies but they still had the lag, and some said it worked.

still, though, i say at your own risk.

I wonder what the real problem is - because the movies play fine (for me) it's when it gets back to in game footage that it starts chunking again.



I know absolutely nothing about computers outside of the very basics.



I'm gonna keep posting here just to keep this thread going. Bioware - please respond.

again, i'm not downloading an unofficial patch from some unknown provider.

Lol.. Just helping people who want the help.. I'm not telling you to download anything I'm just letting you get in the game that you payed money for.. If you decide to use that that's all up to you, but don't throw a fit because I'm trying to help you guys play..

no worries mate, the whambulence comment was direct at dfballa. a few people have already used the patch and had varrying results. my worries are more about keeping my computer std-free.

Ahh.. Thought it was at me lol.. Just on edge, had to call in countless amounts of favors to get the day off so I could play this game lol and spent a HUGE majority of the time stuck at the loading screen only to be stuck at a stuttering cutscene.. Not too happy with this release so far, it's basically the same as the ME1 release too

I just don't want to suffer through two potentially great plot building cinematics that chug and break - and who knows what happens later on.

You can see it.. You'll get a brief green screen then it cuts to gameplay

I saw one of them post on the import character problem but that wasn't really a problem people just didn't know how to do it right.

From a few reports I've read the fix works great till you get to the last few missions and then they won't load so i really hope an official fix to this comes soon

having the same problem here, single core 2.2 AMD.. yeah whats the point its clearly not hardware issues

I just hope someone over at Bioware is taking a look at this thread. They said a whole lot about the Cerebrus promo problem, but not one word about ours.

if you are "lagging" outside of the videos what video card are you using? that sounds more like a low framerate

I have a dual core AMD 4400+.  When I hit "start game" (whether selecting a premade character or a default characte) it goes halfway through the loading screen and freezes.

Anyone notice that this seems pretty specific to AMD processors?

jidnis, i have to say that i have an intel core 2 duo quad core processor so...it's definately not a single core or an amd problem

also this issue is outside of single core pc's I have a friend with the same machine as myself (motherboard, cpu, etc)



Only two differences, I have vista he has XP, i have an ati card he has an nvidia card. I don't crash he does...sooo

i got about 1.5 hrs left to finish download

Phonzo - it's the same problem everyone else here is having.



When I log into the game - it all works fine. Not a hitch. If I allow the Intro Cinematic to play - I will come back to the "Start New Game" "Import Character" and it'll chug - but, then I can get into the game and it'll load.



If I don't watch the intro cinematic - and go into the "Start new Game" screen - no chugging. But, it will freeze upon trying to start the game.

At this point - after reading all 6 pages - it's got to be on their end.



We've got Intel and AMD



We've got Single Core - Dual Core - and Quad Core



We've got slower end machines - we've got some beasts.



There's no one trait (yet) that can be pinned down on our end.
