Some people may have hidden agendas you know? Some PC gamers think nothing of dropping 3 grand or more on their gaming rig and expect/demand that game companies cater to them exclusively. So when its pretty clear that console controls are better than KB/mouse the PC master race guys have an axe to grind.

Also some people hate gay people IRL and they do not want to see gay characters and/or situations in a game. Another axe to grind on the internets.

I say w/e. If you like DAI play it. If not, don't. I would like all the complainers to show me what ITO is the perfect RPG so I can play it. The answer better not be Skyrim cause that would be laughable.

Um...can we stop stereotyping PC Gamers please? I did not drop $3000 on my rig and it plays fine.  Im sure once I upgrade my videocard  the speed will improve but for my rig.............but I have had NO bluescreen crashes at all.

I have told people time and time again....all they need to do is upgrade to more RAM and purchase a mid grade videocrard and you will get the game to run.

In this day and age everyone should have 16 gigs of RAM or more in their computers.   I have no sympathy for anyone trying to run this game on 4 gigs of RAM.  It just won't work.  And RAM is NOT expensive and easy to install on your own.

But a lot of them don't really like it. Look e.g. at the PC rating of the normal customers (3 of 5 stars) on Amazon.com.

A quote from a rating with 2 stars, which was marked as helpful by a lot of people as example:

"So here we are, a game with all the features you could dream up, but with mediocre gameplay, horrible AI, horrible control, mediocre story, a few decent characters among a bunch of very generic ones, and a ton of fluff to pad out the gameplay I've already established as mediocre. The game can be enjoyed, I suppose. It has a few fun cameos, some beautiful locales, and a generally good score. As a whole, though, I don't see how I can justify three full stars when there's so much part of the core game which just isn't good."

A lot of those amazon ratings are troll ratings too

I was around during that time and it was 1000 times worse than it is now.

Right. I feel the need to bring it up whenever someone talks about these boards being negative about DAI. It's either that or laugh and say: "Sweet summer child, you know nothing of winter."

It's okay. Most of the things I personally don't like about it (the abundance of filler quests) are ignorable, and so long as I'm just willing to ignore them, the people who love them can keep them. The thing that I keep wanting them to improve on, which is creating more impactful choices, has still not happened. Maybe now that they've gotten rid of their repeating maps problem, they can focus on how to make the narrative more mechanically meaningful.

I am a PC player.  Never had much problems running the game.

DAI for me is a nice diversion.  I like story/open world formula.  Think the compagnions are rather bland, can't get attached to them as in the ME trilogy.

For me it is more an inbetween until ME4 arrives.  Hope they will still dare to go personal route with protagonist and compagnions after the debacle with ME3's ending.

Thats for me the biggest difference between DA universe and ME universe, ME protagonist and compagnions are more friends and in DA passers by which to me is the biggest difference between the franchises.

PC player playing with m/k and I love this game. Maybe I've been lucky with bugs? Origins is one of my favourite games and it will always have a special place in my heart, even if they are the same franchise I believe it's unfair to compare the two. The 'nostalgia factor' is too strong, at least for me.

DA:I managed to live up to my hype, I don't know how. I mean, it has flaws, but I love it, especially the characters (just think about how complex solas is! Iron bull, cole, dorian! Even sera and viv, everyone really) and the main missions are amazing. I actually would not mind being able to play as the Quizzy again in the next game.

But most important right now, I NEED DLCs! Never thought I'd say that :P

It already won Game of the Year... it's being largely touted as the best game Bioware has produced in years.  I'd say the general consensus is that is a success.

This.

It's an amazing game with some minor (and fixable) faults.

Game sucks! Anybody who says it's great never played DAO.  For somebody whose never played DAO then I can see how they may like it, because most console games suck in regards to story and RPG, etc. It's all action and button smashing vs immersive experience.

Why does it suck for those who played DAO and not for those who never have?  They don't know what they are missing AND because bioware LIED to those who had.  DA became great because of DAO and we wanted more.  Quests and sidezones in DAO had major impacts and variations.  All side zones were tied to the main story and the end of game had tons of different endings for each of the side zones and even minor character quests had slides as well.  I forgot how long but the ending was easily 10+ minutes on all the results of your decisions.  In DAI, only 3 slides or so on some parts of the major story.  NOTHING on side zones.   DAI removed choices, removed unique opening stories, removed tying in the side zones to the main,  added a ton of MMO pointless fetch quests, etc.etc.etc.

If you never played DAO, get it now, play DAO and DAO expansion, even with graphics not as updated, the game will blow this one away with choices, story, and replayability.  DAI played twice is the same exact game.  DAO you can play 10+times and always get a surprise on how the different choices and the different beginning options change the game.

I am one of those PC amazon ratings and they are NOT troll ratings.  Play DAO then come back and say how great and improved DAI is over that.  Play DAO atleast twice, I recommend dwarf noble for one of those playthroughs.   Make many different choices and compare how the game was completely changed in DAO and identical and unchanged in DAI.

Appreciated by console players, hated by PC players.

Not really, this game was one of the reasons i bought PS4. If not the sidequests and the ending i would give it 8,5/10. With them 6/10. That drives me kinda mad. Hopefully the DLC's will be ass wrecking.

I played DAO and DAII and this one is great other than a few minor inconveniences with companion tactics (though largely the AI is good enough to get by) and the tactical map controls. The visuals are works of art and the writing is certainly worthy of the name BioWare.

The joke is that each one of SWTOR storylines is better than DA:I.

I think its a fantastic game with great characters, dialogue, cinematics, character face creator, and presentation of a decent enough main story.  It was good to be back in the world.  However, embedded within is very lackluster combat, horrible camera, too many grindy fetch quests, and a few problems with performance on PC.

Good game, been playing it for about 150+ hours so I can't say I was bored. However, I'm a little disappointed with the story, it felt really short and I felt kind of empty after the ending. I don't know, I was expecting something completely new and grand from DA:I and didn't really get it. I still don't feel like my choices really mattered that much and the romances didn't feel much different from before? I still haven't seen any mentions of them in the party banter, and I was always waiting for some kind of reaction when danger faced the Inquisitor but most of the time got nothing.

Before this turns into a rant I'll just conclude this by saying it's a good game, but hopefully less meaningless questing and more story and companion dialogue in the future.

Considering both my wife and I are 50 or so hours in on our second playthroughs Id say I got my money's worth. My wife isn't a gamer, but she enjoys this game and enjoys it when I watch her play. No other nextgen game has done that.

It can be argued that DA:O is a more thoughtful, better game. It has deeper characters, better story, better encounters etc...but Origins was very draining for me. I never actually finished Origins. Each part had so much information, heart wrenching decisions and challenging encounters that psychologically I just never had the energy for one play through. I would quit at the landsmeet.

For better or worse, DA:I isn't as heavy, its not nearly as tactical. Its a much easier game. As a result of those design decisions I spent twice as much time beating it as I did not beating Origins. I then immediately started my second playthrough. That happens rarely for me, even more rare to start over after spending 80 or so hours to finish it the first time. Even more rare that my wife finishes it herself and her playing a game for a second playthrough has never happened.

I do criticize the game, but only because I already love it. Specialization quests make me want to tear my hair out. The difficulty curve on hard and nightmare needs heavy tuning. The game is too easy on hard, too hard on nightmare before haven and too easy after haven. After level 12 or so the game becomes trivial on any difficulty.

Id like the 2nd act story to be fleshed out more, id like the players resources to be under threat at times. Id like a bit more tactical combat etc...

Overall I definitly got my money's worth.

I hope they aren't afraid to move slightly back in the direction of Origins and slightly away from MMO-lite design decisions in the future. I'm torn however, because as much as I fondly remember origins, I never beat it.

Kind of meh on the game. Its fun to play, but I definitely get an SWTOR vibe from the quests in that most places only have you doing 2 or 3 story related missions if any and the rest is taken up by side quests. I personally think they should have removed a couple areas from the game, Emprise Du Lion/Hissing Wastes, and used the resources that were in those to add to the rest of the zones we have.

Also really dislike the screen shake in this game. Played it twice as an archer/mage and I seriously doubt I'll ever play a warrior as I get really bad motion sickness every time a warrior does anything.

I would say something along the lines of:

"Not as good as DAO, ME1 and ME2, but much better than DA2 and ME3".

No?

Really I think that Inquisition is BioWare's best game since ME2, but I guess that's just me. I still think that DAO is better overall (and I do think that both the Warden and Hawke were better protagonists than the Inquisitor). It's a pretty good game and I'd think that any score between say... around 7.5 to 8 out of 10 would be fair. It's MUCH better than a lot of so-called "AAA" garbage we're seeing popping out since the past couple of years.

It's my game of the year but I feel like I'm simply giving it a free pass since there was after all not much competition for it this year. I think the oversized areas, MMO fetch quests and disjointed plot in the main missions are huge drawbacks, but otherwise it's a really good game. I just wish we could've had a proper Bioware game soon... you know, one of those games where the RPG stuff and the storytelling is the main attraction and not "Emergent storytelling" and video-gamey stuff. (I say video-gamey as if I think BIoware's older games were not video-games but you get my point. They were more like interactive tabletop RPGs with interactive narrative as their main focus, ALSO and ESPECIALLY in their side-content, unlike DA:I or ME3)

As a huge fan of Dragon Age, who was pretty pissed about DA2, I was really worried about getting let down by this game.

I'm so happy to say this was the game I wanted. There were so many nods to the other games, so many fun quests, and despite the lacklustre ending, I can't wait to sink another 60+ hours into a new play-through.

Game sucks! Anybody who says it's great never played DAO.  For somebody whose never played DAO then I can see how they may like it, because most console games suck in regards to story and RPG, etc. It's all action and button smashing vs immersive experience.

Or they have a different opinion. Played DA:O, thought it was a good game with some forgivable flaws, and I like DA:I better, see it as a better direction, and see it has some forgivable flaws (all major RPGs I can think of have flaws, though - too big usually to be flawless).

I had a long detailed list of why but really it comes down to:

1. No cheap 3rd options on quests (except the Orlesian Civil War, kind of, but even then the 3rd option doesn't feel "better" per se).

2. Optional areas that are connected to the overall  story but not necessary for it. (I wish the areas were even better and told better independent stories, like Emprise or Crestwood does, but it's a start.) Adds great exploration and fun, including some decent dungeons and puzzles that are optional.

3. Better companions. .

4. Better combat I prefer (faster) that gives me action or tactical options, even if the tactical isn't ideal.

5. Gear customization.

I have the same feeling of influencing the world as DA:O but I'm more comfortable changing up choices and play styles each run. In DA:O, there are choices that feel optimal (like werewolves AND elves both surviving) but it doesn't feel quite the same in DA:I to me, and I enjoy that.

I find DA:I to have more replayability. I'm already on my 3rd playthrough whereas with DA:O, when I was done with my 70 or so hours, I was done for awhile and didn't touch it for months. DA:A I played through twice in a row though. I've replayed DA:O, but I always need awhile between playthroughs. That's a matter of opinion and preference though - some people can play DA:O, finish it, and play it again, I'm sure.

My biggest point is it's a matter of opinion and preference, not always a matter of not playing DA:O. I enjoyed DA:O, but I simply enjoy this one more.
