So I've been playing the game for 3 1/2 hours and so far and everything is running perfectly except dialogue in cutscenes or one on one interactions with other characters. The voices are very low and gotta crank up the speakers to hear it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Alright, I fixed it on mine. I changed my computer's settings. I DID NOT use the mass effect config utility, in the config, I have the audio set to default. What I did with my computer was set my speaker setup to quadrophonic instead of 5.1. Even though my speakers are in a 5.1 setup, it messes things up for some reason. So just find your computer's sound settings and make sure that the output is not 5.1 or anything higher than that. I think the less speakers you tell the computer to use, the higher chance it is that your problem will be fixed. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Cptn! IT WORKED! Switched to quadrophonic and everything is sounding just right. Now this game is perfect!

Just wanted to chime in and say it worked for me, too. I set my speakers to Stereo in Windows settings, and it still uses my sub woofer for bass effects so I'm happy.
Now if I could figure out how to fix the random black background on certain text...
