Since the patch many people are reporting this in EA's forum, but no one ever replies so I decided to try bioware to see if they care.

You can see in my video here what we are all talking about

Theres texture pop, LOD issues, people dropping in and out, for some users even entire mountains appearing only after they run into them. I have a very highend rig so the problem is less for me but still demonstratable, but for some its completely horrible.

Is Bioware planning to patch this issue?

I am thinking that, the world's LOD is forced on low settings instead of going to ultra, similar to how the Mesh settings were forced on low preventing blending which made characters look old.

Is there a launch command that can fix this while we wait for a patch?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I understand what you are saying, even though the video did not seem to capture it correctly. When you jump to a camp the video on my system is a mess, the characters sort of fall into a rapidly forming world, that did not happen before the patch.

A good many people are reporting this. My answer? This is intentional. Instead of actually digging in and optimizing the code, BioWare decided to pare down graphical fidelity and call it "performance improvements." It wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened.

I notice this a lot when traveling to camps and skyhold. It's awful. Never happened until second patch. I'm on PS4 so this seems extra strange that now I have it when I never did before.

I can understand having it be weird on the lowest settings, but for it to be this bad on ULTRA is just kind of a slap in the face.

Further, I know my rig doesn't show it so badly, but for some with slower drives etc, whole mountains appear out of nowhere, or when youre riding through an area on a mount its just a complete mess.

They always say performance improvement etc, and they want to make the game run better for people, but ULTRA is just that.. ULTRA it's supposed to be the nicest possible everything. Companies doing this to PC are just wussing out at the complaints of 5 people with ancient videocards upset they cant run the game on utlra.

Why not add a Fade Touched setting or something so this doesn't happen?  It's not even mild, its really bad. I havn't seen so much world shifting since Unreal Engine 3.0 games that were poorly optimized.

I can't figure out their logic, but at the very least I wish a rep would say "This is working as intended" or "We will patch this in the future"

Here is the thread on the EA forum about this. Theres a lot more videos there and even a solution albeit one that needs constant attention everytime you zone.

I have been having the same issue.  It kind of kills the immersion.

Same.

There are people lying down on ground in skyhold.. Its so bad when people not only spawn 10 feet in front of you but then fall over.

Yea, I'm getting this stuff all the time, it's especially evident when you go to the tavern. It's empty first, then it fills with people. Minstrel there is still lacking her instrument though. And quite often companions just dissapear from Skyhold map only to return after quicksave->quickload.

I would be interested to hear if this was on PS4 before the patch etc. Did they nerf graphics to make it better for consoles and leave it like that for PC aswell?

Can anyone confirm this?

This had been gone over and many videos posted in the technical forum with no response from anyone. I came to the bioware forum just to post this issue, thinking after weeks with not a single word from EA, that Bioware would care more about their game.

I've been having the same issue the past few days, although it didn't seem to happen as soon as the patch rolled out. Hopefully in the next patch they address this since it is very immersion breaking to see NPC's popping in and out of nowhere.

Edit: It also seems to be 10x worse in Skyhold than anywhere else from my experience.

I also noticed this started happening when i put my settings to Ultra automatically instead of having it custom. I'll see if i change it back and there is any progress.

Also..hasn't it only been 9 days since the new patch >_O. How have people been reporting it for weeks.

Just because Bioware hasn't responded specifically to your bug doesn't mean they don't care about their game...i have the bug too, and it sucks, but I don't think them not having a fix out yet means they don't care...especially since it doesn't necessarily seem to be directly caused by the patch since I didn't get it until way after the patch came out.

I'm having the exact same problem on PC, my post process and anti alias is set to max even. I got a new rig just to play DAI in its best graphics it has to offer us and this patch+hotfix is preventing my playthrough. I am also experiencing the "ring" draw distance, its very obvious if you're in rocky areas like storm coast or the training grounds in Haven.

Same **** for me. I didn't notice much of it besides in skyhold but then I got to exhalted marches and it is REALLY bad there. I think its causing the flickering textures of rocks and stuff in the distance for me as well.

Yeah the video only shows it a little in haven to give the idea but theres so many areas where it just ruins immersion because the world starts to look

like michael bay directed it.

I think they're "Already aware" of it.

http://answers.ea.co...126271#U4126271

Some quotes there from supposed second level support that state the engine is fundamentally flawed and will require work to fix.

Quote...

The game is currently misallocating the system resources, cpu, gpu, ram, pagefile and vram.

this is due to bugs in the coding for Speed Tree, and draw distances.

this is what is causing high usage spikes across all (random access and temporary) storage and processing media, which in turn causes the stuttering, lags, crashes, etc.

However the game worked fine regarding many of these issues before the patch. We can see what they do with it, but it would be nice if they had moderators that could relay basic information.

Indeed it did. Does make you wonder what they've done or undone to cause the problems.

Im not sure, but it would mean the world to us to know that this isnt going to stay like this, and they are looking at a fix.
