I know this works on the 360.
Go to the Influence/power scroll vendor in Skyhold. Buy whichever gold amount of scrolls you want then sell them back with out leaving the vendor. You can do this multiple times till your Influence hits Rank 20. You will not lose gold and you will gain a lot of influence/power easily.
