Compared to Mass Effect, DA 2 even, it seems like Bioware went with the 'safe and Disney' route when designing NPC's this time around. Not saying everything has to be boobs, buns and chiseled out 6 packs, but no NPC in this game has any sex appeal physically, including the Inquisitor.

 

Everyone except for The Iron Bull is covered up with drapes and curtains for gear. It would be nice to see some curves and body type variations other than different head and face designs. Hopefully the new Mass Effect has more appealing looking characters.

Inquisition is definitely far less sexy than pretty much every other Bioware game in terms of the character's appearance... Except for Morrigan I guess.

But they make the romance scene sexier to compensate.

Some of the sex scenes were kind of hilarious, actually. Dorian's body quite clearly didn't match his head and looked pasted on, so that kind of took me out of that moment.

 

But yeah, how dreadful it would be if real life people were as ugly as Cassandra is. Or Leliana. Or Blackwall. Or Dorian.

1. Romance Cassandra. Voila, more boobs!

 

2. Romance Dorian. Voila, great ass!

 

3. Romance Blackwall. Receive romance card. Stare lasciviously at the character selector screen for the rest of time the game.

For that matter, there are also boobs in the Blackwall romances. (The ones belonging to your Inquisitor.)

I found the advisors far more attractive than the main cast. As for the main cast...Yes, their heads were pasted in to supermodel bodies that didn't match some of the characters, but their faces and oftentimes personalities really ruined them for me.

Still not understanding the Dorian love... Since this is my main option as a gay male I found myself now going for the female options. He is just so obnoxious. I expect him to break out in spirit fingers at any moment when he speaks.

Cass and Josephines personalities are far more palatable.

Funny you mentioned the Iron Bull. I thought he was hideous, and was thoroughly set to dislike him before the game was released. His character was written so well I actually ended up romancing him, and laughing alongside Krem when he mocked his pillowy man-bosom. I actually like that all of the characters are fully armored, a little dirty, a little gritty. It puts more of the focus on their personality, and the writing that went into them. You still get to see T&A after you've romanced them, so it's not like Bioware has gone "full Disney" unless you romance Jossie, and hey, some people want a Disney romance.

TL;DR I loved the romances in this game. Something for everyone.

That having been said I don't like either LI option for straight males. If they had kept Cass like she was in the movie, I would have liked it better.

So far, she is the only character I've seen in DAI with a slight sex appeal. Too bad, she's not a romance option.
