Vivienne is not a LI option.

Josephine is. She's also interested male inquisitors.

Kind of wondering how you got 100 hours into the game and didn't notice that. Or 9 play throughs for that matter.

Don't know. None of the females impressed me, and I play the game for what it is.

Thanks for the info, though!

I'm surprised that I haven't seen a lot of lesbians complaining, and they've got sera. In fact they've been pretty good troopers about their options, it's just us dudes straight and gay complaining, and we come off as being obsessed with physical appearance.

I saw a Ser Michel thread yesterday and it made gay players look like we won't be happy until we get a white masculine human warrior abercrombie model, while straight guys want the classical supermodel options like leliana and morrigan, and maybe isabella but that wouldn't be good enough because she has dark skin and has been around the block. I think bioware writes characters first, and if u happen to want to get to know them better then that's an option, their looks aren't the first thing in mind, characterization is

Just wait for a tad.

People will eventually rip the models and start doing porn via Source Film Maker.

It took about a week for Cersei Lannister stuff to start cropping up using the new Telltales Game Of Thrones games model.

Compared to Mass Effect, DA 2 even, it seems like Bioware went with the 'safe and Disney' route

My thoughts... DAO physically Morrigan was all fan service.  Don't get me wrong, I loved many aspects of her look, demeanor, attitude, etc. but she HAD to be a mage and have magic to keep herself in that outfit (I like and found her in DAI a bit more realistic).

DAO Lelianna was the seeming perfect and bright eyed innocent.  Alistair was pretty much a Calvin Klien underware model.  To me the only seemingly not entirely attractive LI option was Zeveran and I'm not entirely sure why.  I guess I just didn't find how he was put together very pleasing, but I know many have other opinions and it's not something I'm going to raise a banner over.

DA2 Aveline struck me as a "handsome" woman.  I don't think she was unnatractive... she was pretty in a very strong way, but I wouldn't list her as beautiful.  Merril was that wide eyed innocent reminiscent of Lelianna in the first one.  Isabella was the buxom eye candy. Anders was a bit grizzled.  Fenris was pretty hot.  Sebastian wasn't too bad looking.  So in the scheme of things look wise for LIs I think they got a bit more relasitic than the first one.  You had very physically pleasing options, but if you wanted something beyond simply looks you could opt for Ander's zeoultry, or Aveline's loyalty.  To have everyone smoking hot isn't an option.  I'm just glad that things in games have shifted to be a bit more equal.  I remember once upon a time when they actually started to allow the main character to be female as an option in these games where the guys had a host of super hot options (none of the male LI's were unnatractive), but if you did play a female you had one, maybe two options and they generally weren't very appealing (physically speaking, and more often then not their attitudes and the romance lines were heinously unnatractive).

DAI I liked.  First off the majority of the options were older and more experienced.  As hard a warrior as Casandra was it's not unreasonable at all to expect she would have a scar or two.  Iron Bull was built like a tank but he was VERY scarred up.  Cullen, for all his hot-ness even had a scar, looked older (he is now) and a bit grisled.  Blackwall we get is even older, as is Solas, but Blackwall has lived a very hard and rough life since he's been on the run.  It makes sense he's not a playboy.  I believe Solas is said to have been designed to be in his 40's and if you ask me he's looking pretty good for it, but you could argue that to many he'd be "sexier" if he had some hair.  I could continue on, but my point is that I found it was actually refreshing for a change, the women weren't all perfect, can't say of the romanceable options there was a super model amongst them.  Same for the guys; the closest thing to an underwear model was Dorian.

Bottom line, IMO is that there wasn't a host of fan service for either gender.  It was more realistic of the characters and their backgrounds for the most part.  As I've gotten older it's been nice for some games too have older characters with history and scars that show (and those that aren't as outwardly manifested).  I personally think it makes their personalities and your personality matter a bit more and therefore the romances a bit more meaningful.  I'm glad not everyone is the perfectly hot 20 something.

Why are all the characters ugly with no sex appeal?

All of them? * lol *

To each their own I guess?

I still find Leliana pretty attractive (her voice and accent, however, even more so; talk to me Leli, anytime you want, about anything). I also find Vivienne surprisingly attractive... and I'm saying "surprisingly" because I usually dislike women with shaved heads (except for when Natalie Portman did it, now she is quite the woman... b- but I digress a bit). In fact when I first saw Vivienne (during her intro in Val Royeaux) for some reason she immediately reminded me of Samara (I think it's because of their mannerisms and body language, and the cleavage, too). I also thought that scout Harding is rather cute, not "beautiful", but... cute, you know. And Sera is cute as well in my book, also them lips (they remind me a bit of Jack's... but nothing will ever beat Jack's lips... I mean... mouth lips... yeah).

And I thought that Josephine was also pretty, not "beautiful", not exactly what I'd call "cute" either but... still pretty. In fact I found her to be more attractive because of her politeness, civility and courtesy over her actual physical appearance (although physically-speaking she's pretty anyway). I can understand why some wouldn't like her nose however (I think it fits the rest of her facial traits). I also like her skin tone, it feels exotic (I'm a boring white person myself and I like colors, got a prob' with that? Well ok I'm not saying I'd kiss an Orc because I don't really like green skin but anyway point done). Also, those two Dalish girls in Iron Bull's Chargers team, not bad-looking at all (Skinner and Dalish, especially Skinner... although both her nonchalantly-delivered "Killed some people.", "Now I get paid to kill Shems." lines sort of would put urgent breaks right away... still she looks cute).

As far as males are concerned, Varric is... well, his chest hair is like his second face, really though he's a cuty. I thought that Iron Bull looks alright, he has a distinct personality (and appearance, obviously), also them shoulders, and he has a nice voice. And Cullen looks pretty cute as well. Additionally, Dorian is rather adorable (that mustache is a sublime head-turner).

Anyway, it's impossible to satisfy everyone's personal tastes, especially when it comes to "sex appeal".

If your inquisitor is ugly that is your fault.

Its because fantasy games now need a touch of reality to it. If i ever decide to get into game development and make an RPG , no humans allowed in the cast , screw that amount of noise you get. I'l make some humanoid type and when people say it 'objectifies/unrealistic' i can turn around and say 'Dey ain't hooman'

You do realize that Disney is slowly and quietly taking over the world.?.
How much money is Disney worth? Remember the Titans! Marvel, Star Wars...

World Domination.

What's wrong with Disney? Or aspiring to be as successful as such?

Cassandra grew on me. Very well written game imo. As well as the regards to realism and being taken out of the game elements concerning a fantasy world, have always been puzzling and amusing to me.

I find Josephine extremely appealing, and if any of Cassandra's romance dialogue worked I'm sure I would have had a great time. Overall, I think everyone was represented properly, regardless of gender or sexuality. Dorian, Sera, Iron Bull, and Josephine (again) offer great diversity for gay and bi players, so no need to complain there. And I'm pretty sure no female player will want for anything, considering all teh beefcake there is (all the beefcake). I being heterosexual, and male (please don't send hate mail) I'm perfectly content with my options Both "emotionally" and "physically".

I don't know why gay guys would complain, Dorian is one of the best supporting characters in the game. Very well acted.

He's like the gay best friend I've always wanted lol

I thought Morrigan was pretty stunning. In that dress she kind of looks like the hottest character in video game history, Lulu.

Don't worry OP, just keep trying with the CC and I'm sure someday you'll be able to make an inquisitor that doesn't scare children and make all the LI's run away!

What more could we want?

OK, I confess. We could want Leliana. A lot.

But maybe that's just me.

People seem to be ignoring Vivienne, I wonder why.

Might be because you can't romance her.

I think a lot of people who are posting responses like "not this thread again" are forgetting that a quick look to the OP's profile seems to indicate that he isn't very familiar with what's been going on with this forum in the past months (I myself hopped in only a few months ago).

Let the person share their opinions, don't shut people down indiscriminately even if you don't agree. Let people talk and share arguments. There's enough belittling going on the internet as it is.

P.S. And I really don't agree with OP, I find the characters much more realistic (in their general aspect) as compared to previous instalments. I would like to add here that the bodies seemed a little off in a way, but that's just the uncanny valley speaking :D

Cass was pretty, she just needs to let her hair down. I mean she has that braid wrapped around her head. At least during sex? No.

Leliana had a accent? maybe its just me but Corinne Kempa didn't sound nearly as french as she did in previous games, sounded more like a posh english accent sometimes

And I kept hearing how this year has been the best year for RPGs in a decade. Now there's "no competition." Excuses are flowing already...

the real reason is far more, negative than that.

Compared to Mass Effect, DA 2 even, it seems like Bioware went with the 'safe and Disney' route when designing NPC's this time around. Not saying everything has to be boobs, buns and chiseled out 6 packs, but no NPC in this game has any sex appeal physically, including the Inquisitor.

Everyone except for The Iron Bull is covered up with drapes and curtains for gear. It would be nice to see some curves and body type variations other than different head and face designs. Hopefully the new Mass Effect has more appealing looking characters.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what Disney has done that has full frontal female nudity.

Not quite full-frontal, but IIRC Jessica Rabbit has a couple of "Basic Instinct" frames.
