Chris Trevelyan:

- Human Male Mage, Knight Enchanter (favors Lightning attacks)

- Not incredibly religious, believes in Andraste to a certain degree. Willing to use the "Herald" title to further his own power though.

- Sided with the Templars (as a Mage), because he dislike Blood Mages and their usage of magic to do evil deeds. Believes that while magic is good, it must be controlled or bad things happen...willing to give exceptions to some Blood Mages though (extremely rarely)

- Supported Celene, had the Duke killed

- Exiled Wardens from Southern Thedas...though I think this will come back and haunt him in a DLC/DA4

- Chose Hawke to stay in the Fade, felt Stroud had to survive to report back to the Wardens about their exile to the North (though I regretted most likely making my Merrill a widow...I'm...sorry, Merrill. Please forgive me. :()

- Romanced Cassandra

- Gave the Well water of Mythal to Morrigan...did not believe in drinking it as a non-Elf

- Fully supported Leliana as Divine, likes her liberal and accepting views of Chantry...and mainly because I didn't want to break up with Cass

That's the main canon I'm sticking to for DA:4.

I haven't actually played through my canon Inquisitor yet, but I know what I'm going to do with him.

Morgan Lavellan - Spirit Mage / Knight Enchanter

Spoiler

- Believes in the elven pantheon of gods. He chose Andruil for his vallaslin. Very pro-Dalish, pro-mage freedom.

- Doesn't believe he is the Herald of Andraste. Doesn't believe that Andraste is the bride of the Maker, because he doesn't believe in the Maker, but he respects what Andraste the human woman was able to do for the People. Anti-Chantry.

- Favored Leliana and her agents.

- Offered full alliance to the mages.

- Briala in power, ruling through Gaspard.

- Allowed the Grey Wardens to stay.

- Left Stroud in the Fade.

- Romanced Dorian.

- Respected the elven rituals in the Temple of Mythal.

- Drank from the well himself.

- Hardened Leliana as Divine.

- Iron Bull: saved the Chargers.

- Dorian: reconciled with his father.

- Sera: Conscripted the noble and later kicked Sera out of the Inquisition.

- Cole: remained a spirit.

- Solas: freed his friend and didn't allow him to kill the mages.

- Blackwall: allowed to remain and be given to the Wardens later.

- Vivienne: gave her a regular wyvern heart.

- Leliana: allowed Leliana to kill the traitorous agent and the Chantry sister.

- Josephine: elevated the DuParaquets.

- Cullen: kicked his lyrium addiction.

I've got a new cannon going, decided it fit with my Elf Cannon.

Male Tal Vashoth mage Inquisitor

headcannon: His mother is a serabas, raised under the Qun, His father was her Avaraad and fell in love with her. They left Qunadar because of that.

Adaar is a complete atheist, he sees all gods, Tevinter, Elven, The maker, etc... as simply powerful spirits or, in some cases demons. He does not think mages need the circles but, he knows they need education beyond what the mundane receive. He's not 100% opposed to tranquility, a few mages simply cannot be taught just as some mundanes will not learn no matter what is done.

He is somewhat racist. He had all all Tal Vashoth mec. company and, would never consider romancing anyone except a Tal Vashoth or, Qunari. He does not see all Tal Vashoth as violent or even criminal. He's one himself and knows they can be gentle, loving, honorable, loving people without the Qun if given the chance. He also thinks mages are the same, and just need a fair chance to show it, and to learn how to be good people.

Allied the mages

Reconciled Gapard, Briala and,Celene

Generally jails prisoners if possible - loss of freedom is a sentence worse than death to him.

Will let Morrigan drink from the well. He's smart enough to know that she will understand it better than he would and, he really has no use for more sorrow in his life - yeah he takes the name a bit too literally, but that's his personality.

He thinks Cory is just an overinflated pride demon that happens to be whats left of an old magister.

And, his favorite meal is Fillet of Dragon back, so yeah he's as bad a Bull for wanting to go kill them.

Maybe its just me but whereas I tend to think of certain ME options as "canon" for me (romancing Liara, choosing destroy), I don't think of DAI that way, maybe because I felt like the story/game didn't prefer certain choices or subplots more than others the way ME did.

I will go with my worst simply because all douche characters are my favorite and I know most in here don't dare to play douche so lol:

(Creepy Draven Trevelyan at your service)

Spoiler

-Human male mage,wants to raise another Imperium,hates Maker(used to like demons until Imshael didn't gave him virgin),likes trolling Vivenne,loves power,hates self-righteous people,douche 100%

-Doesn't believe "Maker Herald" one bit but he likes people worshiping him and kneeling before him...hopes to become 'New God' himself

-Sided with mages and gave full alliance with hope to raise another Imperium, plus to troll Vivenne since he promised her to support templars

-He was with Josephine but she left him like fool in front of everyone afterwards he romanced no one and he went even colder then before!

-Kept only Celene on throne so he can control her and entire empire himself(removed both Gaspard and Briala as possible threat by pinning guilt on them to have them both executed)

-Exiled Wardens and destroyed their Order completely so in end has disappeared.

-Gave Vivienne wrong heart and played her out ...she still considers him friend without knowing how much he enjoys fooling her around without her ever noticing what is really in his mind.(for better considering that even I would rather not know what that psycho has in plans)

-Drank from Well because he wanted all power for himself.

-Hardened Leliana as Divine, because he wanted mages free for his plans to raise another Imperium and because he wanted cruel Divine as well.

And tada~ this is how my "douchebag play" looked like for RP purpose and to have at least one true evil douche Inquisitor in DA:I and this thread

 (No vitaar (sp?)).

ashk2_zpsdfc3041e.png

(With vitaar).

ashk3_zps59e45544.png

Name: Ashkaari Adaar.

Class: Knight Enchanter.

Background: Adaar was weird for a mercenary, often found reading and sometimes engaging others in deep, philosophical discourse. However, he was an impressive battlemage and his vast intelligence translated into tactical brilliance, for which he earned rank of lieutenant with his company. Though he was raised Tal-Vashoth, Adaar agrees with and lives by principles of the Qun, but believes Qunari should lead their own lives and does not adhere to traditional practices therein. Ashkaari is a wandering philosopher, always seeking to find truth and wisdom wherever he may find it, and aspires to find true enlightenment.

-- Leashed the mages.

-- Named setting an example as a Qunari to be his main motivation upon coronation as Inquisitor.

-- Used predominantly Qunari decor around Skyhold.

-- Never claimed to know origin of his 'mark,' was not unsettled by the truth but gracefully accepting of it.

-- Left Loghain in the Fade, banished the Wardens.

-- Let Celene die; Gaspard took the throne, but Briala pulls some strings.

-- Lapped up the Well of Sorrows water like GLUG GLUG GLUG!!, achieving great knowledge, but invalidating his goal altogether.

-- Cass to rebuild the Seekers.

-- Conscripted the noble on Sera's quest.

-- Reconciled Dorian with daddy.

-- Allied with the Qunari.

-- Cole remained more spirit.

-- Annoyed Blackwall 'til he got fed up and left. Nobody noticed anyway.

-- Killed off the House of Repose.

-- Hardened Leliana.

-- Cullen kept clean.

-- Built "balanced" Inquisition (accurately reflected by conscripted mages, Briala's elves, and general military might).

-- Vivienne rose to Divine.

  • Mine is a Dalish dual-wield rogue. Is pro-mage freedom.
  • She professed her faith in the elven gods and none of this Herald stuff. Her elven god and history stuff was tested throughout.
  • Allied with the mages.
  • Romanced Solas
  • Kept the Grey Wardens around, let Stroud make the sacrifice.
  • Saved the Chargers / Kept Cullen off lyrium / Kept Cole a spirit / Reconciled Dorian and his father
  • Got Blackwall out and assigned him to the Grey Wardens.
  • Celene alive, ruling alone (the one thing I regret in the whole game is not reconciling her and Briala - will change that in Keep once I do it on my second run). Florianne is dead and currently in a box in my jail.
  • Let Morrigan drink. Allied with Sentinels.
  • Softened Leliana became Divine Victoria

I always go with two canons, though there aren't all that many differences between them. So far I completed the first canon to my liking which is:

Knight Enchanter Wyatt Trevelyan. Though he believes in the Maker, he doesn't believe he's a 'chosen one'.
- Romanced Dorian

- Recruited and befriended all of his companions

- Made Cole more spirit

- Iron Bull became Tal-Vashoth

- Blackwall freed and judged by the Inquisitor to redeem himself

- Found Lyrium source for Varric

- Allied with mages

- Told Cullen not to use Lyrium

- Did favours for the Du Paraquettes

- Inspired Leliana

- Had Celene, Briala and Gaspard work together, Celene survives, Florianne survives (and made court jester. )

- Morrigan drinks from the Well, Inquisitor allies with the Elves.
- Didn't banish the Grey Wardens
- Stroud stayed in the Fade

- Leliana becomes Divine

My second 'canon' Inquisitor will be most probably a champion Trevelyan who'll romance Cullen, believe she was chosen by Andraste, ally with the Templars and make Cassandra Divine. Other than that, I doubt I'll change all that much.

My Templar Trevelyan will probably end up playing out very similarly to your Champion: outside of specialization, the only other differences that come to mind are gender, LI (Cass ftw), and deciding to make Cole more human. I almost always make an agnostic/atheist Inquisitor that denies being the Herald so I decided to do something a little different for once.

Haven't made a canon Inquisitor yet but I'll probably go for a female Dalish who romances Solas, conscripts the mages, allies with the wardens, backs Briala (with enslaved Gaspard), drinks from the well of sorrows and puts hardened Leliana in charge of the Chantry.

Cannon is my human Knight Enchanter mage Caitlyn T. (she is my current avatar picture)

Believes in Andraste but not the chantry.

Freed the mages, sent Stroud to certain death in the fade, banished the wardens, put Gaspard on the throne as Briala's puppet.

Romanced a lyrium free Cullen.

Was friends with everyone but Vivienne who moved the furniture around when I refused to find her Wyvern heart. Made Bull Tal-Vashoth.  Dorian didn't reconcile with his dad (this personally makes me a little sad).  Gave Blackwall his freedom.  Humanlike Cole.  Took on the noble as an agent despite what Sera wanted.  Didn't let Solas kill the mages. Varric?  I've never not been friends with Varric. But I did give Bianca all the side eye in the world for her part in the red lyrium debacle.

Used the rune to destroy Samon's armor (randomly enough I never got this war table quest line in previous play throughs).

Morrigan drank from the well.

Cass rebuilt the seekers.

Softened Leliana was the Divine.

Inquisitor and Cullen have adorable curly haired mage babies and live happily ever after.

Okay I made that last part up.

I don't have a canon but the one I made that I really took to was my rogue archer female Reya Trevelyan

She recruited and allied with the Templars

Exiled the Wardens

Romanced and stayed with Blackwall

Allowed Celene to be assassinated and Gaspard is Briala's puppet

Supported Cassandra as divine

Let Morrigan drink from the well

Defeated Corypheus

Just completed Jaws of Hakkon DLC with her

Will take her first in whatever DLC comes out next

It's funny because I generally make male warriors but a female archer so far is my favorite inquisitor that I made.  Of course it doesn't hurt that she is easy on the eyes.
