Fade Cloak u do not need to upgrade, mostly u need Spirit Blade (upgrade it to) & all Passive skills & ur good + take all skills from spirit & only upgrade shield (most skills u need to take to get to the passive skills, 1 is just in case u want to revive ur dead companion & other passive skills are good to under spirit, necessary) cause as a Knight-Enchanter u get automatic shield when u hit enemy & each hit restores ur shield when enemy hitting u damages & decreases shield (In Game its Called Barrier, i call it shield), so until u hit u are protected (Becoming Knight-Enchanter made my life easier, combat easier), if u screw up or u get knocked town u lose shield & u get hurt, but still with my mage i was as good as Tank as Cassandra, i was hitting enemy close range with Spirit Blade, i really doubt that i can beat final boss with other chars, cause my companions died a lot when i was beating ass, Cassandra managed to keep living to, but Solas & Varrick, maybe warrior is another char who could beat him
shield upgrades in Spirit tree will upgrade the shield what u get with Knight-Enchanter to, cause its same shield, its just automatically cast on u, also more u upgrade ur shield the better u become as Knight-Enchanter, some shield upgrades are under Knight-Enchanter, well i think there was one, other one is so shield would reflect damage back to enemy
to get Specialization faster, get to SkyHold a bit faster, but get to Level 12 first like i explain down here:
i recommend rush to SkyHold, i mean clear redcliffe & stormcoast & rescue missing scouts (what is in new area) & continue quests for mage's or Templar's to get to SkyHold, i mean the choice, with my first char i cleared to much, i did other ares, spend more time with other stuff before getting to SkyHold, new i cant do Dorian Family quest, with my second char Elf Ranger i just did that, no option for that with my first char, also check often does ur inner circle has something new to say, some may have done like i have with my first char & if that messes up companion quest then it can mess up who u want as Divine as well, so when u get to the part where u go in redciffe chantry, when this guy send u to future cause u know why, by then be level 12 & ur good enough to continue that quest & get to SkyHold, this quest leads to SkyHold if u sided with mages, cause how i did some dialogue was missing cause that Waste of time (training & exploring new areas) caused some to skip, & when it started sometimes i got dialogue that was suppose to be in more beginning then new dialogue & then middle, it was a mess when comparing it to dialogue i get new, all moves forward slowly, all seems in order
my mage was full lightning build, i only skipped one skill, i think it is named Lightning bolt, it was in the middle, slow cooldown & low damage, its just to make 1 enemy paralyzed, its a waste of time using it when ur in combat & it has no effect on bosses, so avoid skills what u think will be useless fire tree for example has one to the one between 2 last spells a passive skill, it eats ur shield (so ur shield disappears faster) to make ur fire spell do more damage leaving u vulnerable, so i consider it bad skill
