Yeah. What is it with this constant "unfit for the Inquisition" option. I had to load a save because of it.

The Cassandra romance reminded me a lot of Ashley in Mass Effect. Poetry. -.- Btw... Cassandra was the only one I find remotely attractive and she's only as popular as the woman who -always- dies on Virmire.
I wouldn't mind not having any romance in the game at all. Unpopular opinion, I know.
You went for Ashly? Found her too squishy, uninteresting... Miranda was better.
Like I said another topic why isn't it possible just to fall in love whatever the gender is ?
I saw stories of straigh people becoming bxisesual because they fell in love or because they wanted to experiment new things.
It's in human nature to be able to change/adapt, don't talk about being unrealistic if you deny that fact.

No, I didn't go for her. I avoided her like the plague after she was assigned to the Normandy against my wishes and let her die every single time on Virmire.
My one and only issue with LIs with a set sexuality is that the 'Straight female' always seems to be the main romance. Liara being the exception to this.
Cassandra, Morrigan, Miranda,Bastila etc all seem to be embedded in the story more and their romances feel more important to the story as a whole.
If BioWare can fix that, than I'm all for set sexuality, yes it's frustrating when I can't romance an LI I'd like too but sex sexualities adds depth to a character when it comes up, Sam Traynor's rejection of a Male Shep is a great example of this.
Was Josephine's romance less interesting *because* she was a bisexual romance option? Does she even ever talk about being bisexual in any context? I've been meaning to ask in her thread if there's anything in her romance where she talks about her sexuality at all. I have a suspicion it never comes up.
Josephine's romance with a female PC was disappointing IMO, its pretty much tailored as a M/F relationship just with the gender pronouns changed, she doesn't mention her sexuality & gets with Blackwall if unromanced too, could pretty much be mistaken as straight if unromanced, just like the DA2 characters tbh
I'm romancing Josephine at the moment and I think it's sweet but then this is my first play through.
Oooh may have to do that this time round.
Yeah i wanted to shag Cass brainless but meh i can't she likes the D' to bad for me i suppose.

Eh, that's what I suspected. No offense to the writers, but in real life, at least a part of my attraction to women is that they give off a "vibe" that they are also interested in women. I've had crushes on straight women, but it's not the same as *knowing* that a woman is going to enjoy flirting with me.
With Isabela in DA2, and Leliana in DA:O, I knew off the bat that they liked women and it didn't feel weird flirting with them. Josephine's flirt option seems superfluous, much like the flirt option with Scout Harding, because neither of them give indication that they would be amenable to being with a female character.
I mean, I've been accused of wanting "playersexuality" that will water down the personalities of the characters involved, but there are definitely ways to write bisexual and pansexual characters who are openly and happily bi/pansexual without falling back on making them promiscuous and kinky. It felt like because they made Josephine a "nice" girl, they thought it would be inappropriate to acknowledge her sexuality. As a bisexual woman who wanted at least one interesting f/f romance, this sends an unflattering message.

Ahh. that's why her responses were "neuter". I couldn't read her "signals".
Signed. Please remove restriction

I think with Josephine they were trying to write a woman who has spent so much time looking after her family that she is a bit naive when it comes to love.
She doesn't even really notice that you have been flirting with her, Leliana notices before she does.
But I get were you are coming from, I generally prefer characters who are more open about their attractions both Leliana and Isabela are great examples of this.
Josephine's romance is very romantic though, which is something that I found to be missing with previous bisexual characters.
If they could combine the honest sexuality of Isabela with the romance of Josephine into one LI than I'd be set.

I don't get this "was obvious Isabela is bisexual" thing tbh, if unromanced she never flirts with any female characters or even mentions being with women if playing as a mage, all she ever does is speak about her sexual exploits with men & flirts with all the male companions
She flirts no matter what at the end of her first quest, as you're leaving the Chantry. It's not the only way to convey someone is interested in women, but it's Isabela. There's also this banter with Bethany:

Bethany: So you've... been with women. In bed?
Isabela: I know. Shocking, isn't it?
Isabela: You see, sweetness, men are only good for one thing. Women are good for six.
Bethany: Six? Which six?
Hawke: Isabela!
Isabela: (Laughs)

I *do* like the idea of having a sweet, uncomplicated, "traditional" romance, with a female character, but the way it's implemented, yeah, I wish they could have done *something* to show that Josephine likes women. Even once the romance has started, I've been trying to find out if there's any dialogue that shows how her family feels about her romancing a woman...I mean, it doesn't have to be disapproval, maybe they're accepting, that would be nice to show too. Does the man dueling the Inquisitor for Josephine's hand react differently if it's a female character? That seems like an obvious place to put different dialogue based on gender.

She talks about doing something with Leliana. I can't remember the exact conversation, but it was along the lines of 'then we left, and that's when the real party started'. I took that to assume they were lovers in the past. That's the only mention of her liking women I've seen, though.

I remember that banter, doesn't happen if playing as a mage tho
Bethany dies if you are a mage so ofc it wouldnt

After the "engagement news," there's a new dialog where she can clear this up ![]()

Yes, I interpreted that as Josephine and Leliana being friends with benefits or at least having an onenightstand. They both seem to be quite close and comfortable with each other, too. In fact, that was almost a reason not to flirt with her because I believe Leliana needs someone in her life (my Warden romanced Morrigan).
They weren't lovers, it was a callback to the Leliana's Song DLC. BW had to make that clear since people were outraged thinking Leliana had cheated on their Wardens
Ah right. I find both characters (Leliana and Josie) pretty bland so didn't pay too much attention >.<. I quite liked thinking they had a little bit of a romp together, heh.
