I need some pointers on how to kill this dragon. My character is daul hand warrior lvl 13, Cassandra and Blackwall are lvl 12 as well as Solas & Dorian. I have used multiple combinations of these characters but it does not matter. I can only get the dragon to half strength.

Blackwall has a double hand rare axe with something like 160+ damage. My great sword does around 140+. Solas has mainly winter spells, still can't kill him.

I have taken care of the small dragons at the entrance of the tunnel, and make it to the valley with complete health and potions.

Can some one help me?

There are many videos on youtube and topics on dragons in general and the Hinterlands dragon in particular.

I suggest you take a look at the video in this topic and if you feel like it, read the tips provided in that topic by all.

Aside from that, that thread has some entertainment value in general!

Giving Blackwall a shield and specing him with taunts and defensive abilities will help a lot. As will giving yourself a few abilities that generate guard, and perhaps combat roll for dodging the dragons attacks. Set him to follow himself in tactics.

I use Solas for my dragon fights and I have him stand far away from the dragon on hold position. If the dragon moves or tries to fireball him I move him manually. If dragonlings come to attack him I have him run away, and I run over and kill them (If you have Warcry use it in the middle of them. it will generate loads of guard and make them agro you so you can melee them faster.). He should be set to defend himself.

Dodging fireballs, managing guard and barrier, clearing adds and keeping Blackwall alive and fighting the dragon are all things I did to win. I let Iron Bull and Solas die after I had only 6 potions left, but I was playing a mage KE so was on barrier duty for myself and Blackwall so Solas was not as essential.

Pretty much this, proper Blackwall management and usage is fairly key learning Dragon fights.  On my first nightmare playthrough I learned how to solo dragons on my champion SnS inquisitor.  Now that I'm trying to play some other classes, I have to stop myself from just going "**** it, I'll solo it with Blackwall."

All I want is an option to fist pound Blackwall after the dragon fights. He is my number one companion, a most excellent dude.

Yeah, I ran an all warrior party to kill the Western Approach dragon, Blackwall+Cass+Bull+Inquisitor Dragon fight and aftermath banter was pretty awesome. Cass was flustered, Bull and Blackwall clearly enjoyed themselves, but it would have been cool to chime in.

I think it's ironic though, that Bull has the biggest hard-on in the party for fighting dragons, but on nightmare, Bull is terrible at it, and Blackwall is perfect for it.
