Hey all,

In the game it says on one of the load screen tips, that you can use the World Map to fast travel across the world as long as you're not in a dungeon.

Could anyone please tell me how to do this? I haven't found any fast travel options, other than some sort of teleporter that I was lucky enough to run into at one point.

You can fast travel to:

* any camp site you have visited,

* "fast travel" spots in locations you have visited (such as Redcliffe)

* any "world map" locations you have found (these can be found at the edges of maps)

* any keep you have claimed

When you highlight a location in the map screen, the "travel" option at the bottom of the screen will be greyed out if you can't fast travel there.

you can only fast travel on camp, keep, and marked as "fast travel."  Check the map legend for icons.  Maybe there are others but I only know of these 3.

Thanks for the replies!

So there should be a "travel" button on the area map for locations i can fast travel to? This must be the part i'm missing then. I'd love to be able to go back to my War Room for example, without having to run somewhere on the normal map (i wouldn't even know where to go lol).

At the bottom of the map screen there is a list of available commands - travel is A on Xbone. It is greyed out for non travelable locations (caves and astrariums are typical examples of such locations),

You have to select a map marker first -- if you select a camp, keep, or fast travel marker on your area map -- the travel button is enabled. You should really check the Legend to learn what the keep and fast travel icons look like if you are not familiar with them yet.

For example, if you are in the throne room in Skyhold, you can fast travel to other 4-5 areas in Skyhold (i.e. garden, near Leliana, near Cassandra, or near Blackwell, and throne room). Fastest route to War Room in Skyhold is fast traveling to the throne room (near Undercroft map icon.  If you are still in Haven, I cant remember if there are fast travels available except the Haven world map marker that transports you outside the gate.

Here's am easy one. If you're standing outside somewhere (anywhere), and you're not in combat, open the map. Now select World Map. Now select Hinterlands (this is a better example if you're not in the Hinterlands already, but it will work either way). Now select one of the Tent icons (indicating a Camp). At the bottom of the screen, there is now a Travel option - select it.

Boom. Fast travel.

I don't get to play games much anymore, and when I can it is sometimes difficult to find one that holds my attention. I was promised by a friend that Inquisition was MUCH better than DA2. It is.......or was........the more I play and spend time pissing with my piddly little 8 potion limit.........coupled with the massive amounts of time walking or riding to get to places that don't have a fast travel option (of course, this usually happens because I am going back to replenish the aforementioned piddly EIGHT healing potion limit)..............I have lost all patience for this game by level 5. Do they play these games before they release them?

Tester to developer: Man, I have spent SO much time walking back to places that have potions because I ran out kinda fast......you know.......since I can only carry EIGHT and healing magic is nowhere to be found in this ****** game

Developer to tester: Yes, we found that inordinate amount of time you spend on that bullshit to be reasonable and contributes to the entertainment value of the game. And being able to heal your party at will, or between fights, is unrealistic in a world based on magic and giant holes that appear to spew forth demons.

Tester to developer: I won't tell you that yourself and your peers are ****** idiots; because I really like testing games for a living. Please leave so I can tell the guy next to me that you're a ****** idiot.
