Is the amount of ore you get level dependent when gathering? In my first play through I didn't get to Emprise du Lion until level 16 and was getting 3-7 silverite ore per attempt but going there at level 11-15 I am currently only getting 1 ore per attempt.

Possibly, I generally pay little attention to the amount you get, except that it varies.

I can confirm that all the tier 3 ore I mined would only drop 1 until I reached level 16 and then I would get 2-8 pieces of ore. Still, I was able to get a major boost at the middle levels by farming silverite, dawnstone and the other tier 3 ores.

Also, after clearing out the Highland Ravager you have a lot of silverite ore nodes that you can farm. However, I have made a number of runs through the area and only picked up one fade touched silverite ore. My conservative estimate would be about a ten to twelve runs on about ten nodes with only one fade touched silverite ore! I am thinking they changed the chance of drop with the patch since pre patch I could get one every one to three runs.

Question, in exalted plains Lazurite is supposedly a common ore, WHERE is it then???????

Lazurite is common in Western Approach.

You don't have to kill the dragon to farm the Silverite, just walk around her and pick up the Silverite then use Stealth or Barrier when she starts to attack your team mates. As for the fade-touched Silverite, there are 2 different kinds; Gain 5 guard on hit and % chance to cast chain lightning on hit. It took me 5 hours of save scumming by the entrance to get 2 of each fade-touched Silverite.

I'm on my fourth playthrough and I noticed something odd. I think it's odd, anyway. I haven't found any fade-touched items and I'm a compulsive gatherer. I've been to Val Royeaux and the Storm Coast. I've recruited Sera, Iron Bull, and Blackwall. Maybe my memory is playing me false, but I thought I would have found something by now.

 

And now that I've written this, I'll go back to my dwarf and immediately stumble upon one.

What did I tell you? Okay, not quite immediate. I was pretty far into level 7 when I wrote this, and my previous pt's did have fade-touched when they were level 7 and at least one before then. However, I did pick up some fade-touched when I reached level 8. Just the random thing working against me this time, lol.
