So did you save the Qunari alliance or let it burn?

What is it with Bioware and not letting us have our cake and eat it too?! :P

I don't understand Bioware's insistence on this. Seriously, if there's a third option make us WORK for it instead of yanking it out altogether. Look at the Orlesian ball - if you bust your chops you can force all three to work together. Is it the best outcome? No. But its a third option that you have to work for. Why can't there be a third option for the chargers where you can try to save them and half the team dies?Or if you brought Dorian or Cole they can use haste/Cole's teleport ability to save the Chargers and intercept the Venatori? Not as bad as just watching them get slaughtered.

Maybe if the cake had a regeneration potion baked into it.

Or maybe its because you need the Tallis network to even find out about it? You don't hear about what happened to the Lavellan clan or Valoos-kaas mercenaries as a Travelyan so it's likely you just missed it and it wasn't told to you. Besides, why would the Qunari go out of their way to save Denerim? To win that mission you have to use Josephine to warn the leaders since Cullen and Leliana's options fail. Would the Qunari warning them work?

I'm saying that the attack might not happen at all. With the Qunari going after the Venatori themselves, that fleet meant for Denerim may have been diverted to fighting the Qunari. I have no proof, but it's a possibility.

I went with the Qunari alliance. If there's one thing I can trust about the Qunari, is that they always honor their word once given, and it's really cool being the very first person they ever entered an alliance with.

I felt really bad over it, but what's one mercenary band compared to having a bunch of qunari dreadnaughts?

Saved the Chargers. They grew on me so quickly and Bull was so fond of them... Plus, I don't think I even heard of the Denerim quest thing until now, so I didn't really care that much for the alliance.

I prefer not recruiting Bull at all though. This is a Holy Calling. :P

My problem with the Qunari alliance is whether it can last. I have fundamental problems with the Qunari and I'm not sure if you can get them to change even if you enter an alliance with them, which, in my mind, seems to last until The Elder One is stopped.

One thing I don't get is that people say leading to a truce leads to the Qunari gaining a foothold on Ferelden, but as the war table missions and Mark of the Assassin seem to indicate they ALREADY have a pretty large one; the alliance just means you get to use it too. So even if you scuttle the alliance you're not denying the Qun a foothold, you're just denying yourself the chance to use it to stop the Venatori.

Also, while the Qunari AREN'T as honorable as they would have you believe, they have no reason to lie in this case - The Venatori threaten them as much as anyone and Tevinter is their enemy so they're not going to prioritize screwing you over killing them. Also, am I the only one who actually sees the benefits of the Qun? We can harp about freedom but chances are we're not jobless shmucks living in the street. Those beggars and whatnot? I'm pretty sure many of them would sign on for the Qun since it gives them a stable job, three meals a day and, if Iron Bull is to be believed, free sex whenever they need it.

I acknowledge the Qun's failures - their treatment of Mages is abhorrent and taking kids away is disgusting - but they have their benefits as well. Freedom for all is good in theory, but in practice less than half succeed and those that don't are trampled underfoot. Solas even cows to it: How many servants go out to be authors? Almost none, but the world wouldn't oppose them....actually, yeah, they would since the rich, powerful and naturally talented would still be picked over the servant.

I chose the Qunari Alliance. The Chargers are not worth an entire Dreadnought.

Also, I have watched Bull's reactions to both outcomes and it seems to me, that is much more collected and at Peace with himself, if the Chargers die and he stays a Qunari, while he actively agonizes over becoming a Tal Vashoth.

Why should it have to last? The Inquisition's main purpose is stopping Corypheus, and in-universe characters don't know they'll always succeed no matter how many people they ****** off.

That's the best thing I can say about the Qunari.

But I see that as a challenge for everyone else to do better. Not to embrace the Qun.

Regretted it way later when I found out that because of that I couldn't get the best staff in the game :(

I can respect that. What I hate are fans who go "NOOO, QUNARI ARE COMMUNIST HEATHENS! BURN THEM ALL!". Every day I see beggars whether they be kids or seniors begging people for food or alms and 9/10 times people ignore them altogether. Freedom is good for me and those who live in relative comfort, but for them freedom is a bitter pill.

I saved the Chargers primarily because at that point I had become so disillusioned that my choices mattered that I couldn't think of a single good reason to sacrifice them for the potential alliance. I was sure I'd be fine without the alliance.

I met the Chargers. I liked the Chargers. I never met the dudes on the boat.

R.I.P., boat dudes.

You guys can be ruthless pragmatists all you want.  Me?  I'm sharing drinks with Krem and the rest of the Chargers.

My Inquisitor is a ruthless pragmatic. It's not like she's not sad, her and Bull do regret it  but both agree it had to be done.

I wish there was a happy Bull card. Save the chargers and his card is him as a broken man surrounded by the bodies of his fellow Qunari. Save the boat and his card shows him as just another cog in the wheel. Its like Vivienne getting a crap card once you do her quest.

Uh, the enemy's already at your borders as Mark of the Assassin makes VERY clear. You just decide whether you can use them or not.
