The idea that Harding is a desirable character kind of boggles the mind. I played DAI late and avoided spoilers, but there was so much love for her character. I was expecting to be blown away. But I don't get it. There's nothing really there to her character. I just don't get where all the love is coming from.

The only explanation I've been able to come up with is the old "things to **** list." Female dwarf is still unchecked. Other then that there is literally nothing special about her.

There's never been a dwarf romance of any gender, in any BioWare game. Some of us are getting a touch impatient after fifteen years of waiting.

It's pretty bad when you get a Qunari before a dwarf....

 

I gave up being surprised when we got the Tiefling and the dinosaur bird alien. I guess being an angry half-demon or covered in metal plates is less off-putting to some than being short .

Harding is super dope for a couple reasons.

 

1. She never rags on you for the things you do, she just supports you. All the other LI's will give you crap about decisions you make, who you are or what you believe. Not Harding Bruh. Harding got your back. 

 

2. She's a complete badass. She goes into unknown territory to set up a base of operations for you no matter where you ask.

Most likely it will never happen IMO. (not that I am against it).  They are too scared of well.... I don't even want to spell it out but I think they are scared of the backlash from two different groups that might be offended by it.

I think it will happen some day, even if they're like Solas and are restricted to fellow dwarves only. (Which I would be just fine with, personally.) The flirts with Harding seems like a bit of a test case.

 

That said, I'm not holding my breath or expecting it in the next DA game. I intend to keep waiting patiently for another fifteen years - if it takes less time than that, I figure it'll be a pleasant surprise.

So the selling point are (i) she has no controversial opinions and doesn't actively contradict her boss; and (ii) she's as competent as any other companion?

I think that thay may do a dlc for her just like in mass effect 3 Like if you try to romance samara In mass effect 2 you can romance her in the last dlc for mass effect 3 I forgot name of the dlc but that if people what like to romance her and bioware thinks it be a good story to add

Yeah personally the only thing I took from her was annoyance that she kept calling me your worship. Think it's just because she's a dwarf & some people have been wanting a dwarves romance for a long time.

Can't agree more. So little characters that actually care about The Inquisitor in a constructive way...

She's cute, she has a really sweet voice, she's funny, and she's the only non-companion or adviser who we speak to regularly throughout the game.  I'm not surprised at all Harding is popular, although I've never flirted with her because it felt creepy to hit on my employee.

I generally prefer to let the writers do their thing, rather than try to micromanage their subplots, romantic or otherwise, through the forums.

It saddens me that the only three good looking females - Leliana, Morrigan and Harding - can't be romanced.

Don't forget that her voice actress is the same as Liara's, which was probably my favorite romance in Mass Effect.
