Good day everyone.

I'm planning to get ME3 just for the multiplayer for PC. I play it on my PS3 a lot and nowadays I'm away from home so I'd like to get it for PC. ME3 is on sale at the moment on Origin and this is the perfect time to pick it up. But before I do, I need to ask a few questions.

1. Is the MP popular on PC? On PS3 it takes ~30 secs to find a game most of the time. How long does it take on PC?

2. Are there a lot of cheaters on PC?

I'm familiar with most of the glitches that you can run into on console (missile glitch, maxed out build, FB Hydra out of map etc.). How often do you meet cheaters on PC? Are there any "PC exclusive" cheats? One I heard about is the Chakram Launcher, which can be unlocked by modding the game. Are there others like this?

1. Instantly.

2. Only 1 in 100 chance of running into cheaters. 99% of the games are unmodded & cheating free games. We don't have missile glitching. Still if you do run into a cheater, just quit the lobby and join another, it is basically a non issue on PC.

3. PC version is more active than the console versions. Xbox 360 & PS3 versions will eventually die out when most of the last gen gamers have moved onto Xbox One, PS4 or PC, but PC version will live forever because of infinite backwards compatibility.

4. PC version is the best, PC exclusive features include, 60 FPS, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, 8K etc, Mouse/Keyboard, Better Graphics. More RAM for Collectors. Basically Next-Gen ME3 Experience compared to Xbox 360 & PS3.

1. The game is popular enough on PC that finding a game at any time of the day is very easy. Unfortunately there are lots of painfully laggy games too. I highly recommend making new origin friends and playing with them as much as feasible.

2. Cheaters comparable to missile glitchers are very rare. I'm sure 6/6/6/6/6 builds are somewhat common. Hydra glitchers aren't exactly common, but you might bump into them occasionally - if you see a lobby preset to Hydra, you might want to consider leaving. PC exclusive "cheats" include hacked credits and mods, but ending up in modded games while pugging is extremely rare.

It's filled with a whole bunch of cheats, and most of them post in this forum. Don't do it.

Pugs seem to find my hack all the things mod a lot but it's not impossible. Its fun to have enemies fight each other. Save for the dragoon storm Cerberus wave 11.

Thank you everyone for replying, I'm convinced.

More RAM for Collectors.

Finally I can play against Collectors on Gold without the PS3 freezing (it freezes every time when two Praetorians use their laser simultaneously).

I just tried the demo and the graphics are great and my FPS is very stable. I'm sure once I get used to the controls I'll like more than the PS3 version.

I just wish I could export the gear I unlocked on PS3 to the PC version. It will be painful to start again from scratch.

Not necessarily. There is a way you can max your manifest on PC in only 4-5 hours. And there are many people over here who would be glad to help you out.

And how exactly would that work?

You will "magically" obtain lots of in-game money that you can then spend until you have unlocked all ultra rare weapons at X from the store.

Coalesced edit, or even more easily, CheatEngine. You can even hack all your consumables to go to 255. PC mustard race and all that.

This thread took an interesting turn. First, people reassure the OP that cheaters are rare on PC, then in next post they offer him to cheat his way to a maxed manifest ...

I see...

I hope only a small percentage of the players uses that cheat. Unlocking everything via cheats would totally remove the challenge from my game, which I do not want.

That's your right to think it that way. However, whether people.cheat that way or not has no consequence whatsoever on you and your game, so I don't think you can really blame them for that. Not that there is any way of knowing they used such cheats...

I'm not blaming anyone. I know there is no way to prevent cheating in video games, especially not on PC. I actually understand why people cheat. Bioware making such a grind fest MP mode...

I don't mind if other people cheat, but I don't think I will.

Well, you'd be hurting yourself, trying to max a manifest with this little time remaining. Either you'll have to obsess over ME3 and basically play a **** ton of games, or you can allow yourself to at least have played with all the guns and characters before the game dies out. I started last year in August and I didn't cheat my way to a max manifest; guess what, it took almost a year to get there. And I did speedruns, too. Nobody is doing speedruns now; you're not going to find a group that does them reguraly anymore.

When the game was a little "younger," I would have called it "cheating." But cheating now, means cheating yourself out of the chance to play with all the guns and characters before the next game arrives.

Modded lobbies are usually created to make the game more interesting and tougher, so is that really cheating? Missile glitch, Hydra glitch, Box of Shame...that sort of stuff makes the game easier. That's no fun! Modding to make the game harder...now, that's fun!

Just my two cents, really...but I'm a notorious modder, for sure.

With this little time remaining? Before the game dies out? People have been writing obituaries for this game for well over two and a half years. But I can find a lobby now just as quickly as I could the week after it was released.

I basically agree with you on 'cheating' but ME3 won't die out until ME4 is released (maybe not even then). And judging by Bioware's few comments regarding the next game it seems that won't happen for a long while. So if the OP wants to earn his manifest the way we were all supposed to then he should have plenty of time to try.
