Sounds good. The great thing about all this is...if after several hours i just don't dig the warrrior as much as i hoped, i can always respec and go for a rogue or mage, right?

No. You can only respec in your class (archer -> dagger etc.). To switch between mage and warrior you have to start a new game.

It doesn´t matter, they are all now the same colorful mess. Because of the balancing everyone is now part mage, part warrior/rogue.

First, uninstall Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Then, install Dragon Age: Origins.

After that, choose a mage class or a dual-weapon warrior.

Are you kidding me? DAO had a lot going for it, but "fun combat" isn't something I'd say it did well. Tactical, but not always fun. Also, don't be a ******.

On-topic: I'm having a lot of fun on two-handed warrior, charging in their then using mighty blow (Charging Bull + Might Blow = death) is fun every time. Sword and shield is really fun to tank with: Using Shield wall without pausing is very satisfying.

Mages become really fun once you unlock a specialization, I prefer Knight-Enchanter. Rogues are by far the hardest to play, especially the DW rogue because you're squishy but melee range and you don't have guard. Still, its a fun class.

I ran a Rift Mage DPS machine on my first play through and it was a blast despite part of the specialization being bugged.

I bumped up the difficulty for my second play through and am running with an archer now, which has been equally fun. You're able to be a little more mobile, though I do miss my fade step during Oh Sh** moments. :)

Oh hold on, so from warrior one handed i can only respec to warrior two handed?

I do think i am gonna enjoy this, especially when i learn that combat roll. It clearly won't become a Witcher 2/3 combat wise, but then again..the combat in general is completely diffferent anyway.
