And if you were making a solo build what actives would you take?
I'm guessing leaping shot and long shot are a given which leaves 2 slots for...
-full draw
-Evade
-explosive shot
-Mark of death
-????
I'm guessing explosive shot would be a good choice for knockdown and stagger
Mark of death most likely better for a party than solo?
Undecided on full draw vs evade

Long shot is your bread and butter. On my bar I usually use Leaping, Explo and - for the demon commander - Evade. Mark of death is nice, but I prefer to use the previous 4 for greater overall utility.
My anecdotal experience is that the passive party crit CD passive works really well. I always get it, but I have not empirically tested it.
I'd bypass Full Draw - upgraded Long Shot is head and shoulders better. Full Draw works nicely with the hunter tho (who doesn't have access to Long Shot).

I'd like to hear about that passive as well from anyone who has done testing.
As for myself, my current build that is working decently for me (level: threatening):
Explosive Shot - Upgraded (affects nearby targets too)
I consider this a CC and attack ability [similar to Concusive Shot from ME3 MP]
Leaping Shot - Upgraded (powerful multi-projectile shot - upgrade provides 200% damage + next shot knocks down target)
This is my shotgun, and it sounds like one too. For best effect, lock onto the target before firing. Next shot will knock down enemy. I use this mostly for when an enemy gets too close. I also use it when I draw no aggro and can get close enough to use it, then say explosive shot for extra ooomph.
Long Shot - Upgraded (Archer's Lance - let me tell ya how nice it is to take out 3-4 Archers at the same time
Powerful shot causing decent damage, huge damage bonus fired from further away. [similar to high end sniper rifle from ME3 MP]
Mark Of Death - Upgraded (great way to weaken an enemy and take them down quickly. Upg provides 20% enemy armor reduction.)
This is a great way to take down big mooks quickly. [similar to Quarian Tactical Scan]
I would list the passives but I am at work and just can't remember them. One sticks out though "Death From Above" which grants a 25% damage bonus if you are higher than the enemy (up to 10ft/3m). Darn, if I could remember the passive, but the one that reduces aggro--definitely helps survival-wise.

No idea on the crits. I'm tempted to say yes given how fast Long Shot is back up if you get a huge chain of hits. As for Full Draw vs Evade, that's all down to how often you host. If you're hosting Evade is god-tier. If you're not hosting, it can be one of the worst abilities in the game.

Take it from me. Mark of Death has been one of the most OP abilities ever since Origins. I've looked at it and it seems to be just as powerful as ever.
Get a microphone, tell your party when to attack and watch the carnage.
Explosive shot is a must. Most reliable AOE the archer has.
Evade for demon commander sounds like a good idea though, since apparently I've heard archers draw a lot of aggro, but I'll be going for: Mark of Death, Longshot, Explosive Shot, Leaping Shot

Evade is awesome. I usually take one mobile ability, but with DC I have learned to pay close attention to the graphic to see if I am targeted, and if I am I run (briskly walk) like hell and jump, which often (not always) keeps me safe from DC AoE.

Got to 20 now, 1 point left unused. Not sure if I want to test it or just promote lol.
Started leveling a new Hunter in the meantime.

And regarding Mark of death, I get that it's good for groups. In my op I said I'm trying to make an optimized SOLO build.
I ended up taking evade, upgraded. But then I watched mobs I had aggro of run right passed the clone and stay on me. I don't like that. But the range of the Evade is nice

i dont really see why it's that crucial of information to you. the ability is practically necessary if you use the Marksman skill tree, and it's obviously insanely good for the buff to party members, so why worry?
