Hey there!

I have one big issue with this game (besides my unability to create human beeings with the CC).. it's the armor mages get as soon as you arrive in Haven. You know.. this armor you will find in many different variations during the game. I really hate that thing :D

It looks great on female characters and I also think it looks good on qunari.. but if my human mage (male) wears it it looks.. strange.. at least in my opinion.

Personally I love this gray warden mage armor you can find in the game, or something like Malcolms robes from Dragon Age 2. I know.. you can get both as soon as you are around level 13 but until then it takes days and I am looking for an alternative outfit for this time :) Has anyone an idea where I can get my hands on some good looking mage armors in this game? =)

In my first playthrough I found right at the start a gray warden mage armor, it was located in that chest in front of a templar camp (hinterlands). Unfortunately it was a random drop and because I was playing a dwarfen warrior I couldn't even use it.

It someone has an idea where I could find anything like this in one of those low level areas I would really appreciate this. I don't care about stats. All I care about is looking good in this game :D.. and all I found is the same armor over and over again.. and I personally really don't like it :)

It wont ruin the game for me if there is no alternative but it would be nice to get my hands on something else this early in the game.. if possible. Right now I'm btw level 5

If you have the coin, you can buy the Orlesian Battlemage schematic from Val Royeaux, it looks like Malcolm's robes.

If it is still useable for you, the inquisition mage armor is rather decent in appearance though it is only what.. 64 armor rating. Sold by the merchant in haven. Otherwise, like magentaman215 said, Orlesian battlemage once you get to val royeaux, rather easy to get there early, go to the crossroads, talk to the corporal and have 4 power to unlock the map.
