Female mage is winning, that's surprising.

Aye, I expected male followed by female to be honest. Humans being in the top is expected though.

I'm surprised by how much female human mage is winning by. Right now, with almost 800 votes in, it's the only one with double digits for percentage and it's got 30 votes more than the second place combination (female human rogue, which i also find odd).

Over 800 votes in the poll now. This is pretty much the pattern that it's been for a while. A few of them move around a bit (from 3rd to 5th or so), but the general trend is about the same. And female human mage hasn't dipped below 1st place ever. It's been consistently above 10% of the total vote.

Okay, we're at 900 votes (well, 898 votes, actually) in two days. Updated rankings are in the OP. I'm really impressed with the results that this poll has gotten. I've done another round of data analysis on it (again, understanding that limitations to survey data being nonrepresentational):
* There are definitely clear "tiers" emerging. It's been consistent for almost 500 votes now.
* Tier 1 - female human mage
* Tier 2 - male human warrior, female human rogue, male human mage, female human warrior, and female elf mage
* Tier 3 - male human rogue
* Tier 4 - female qunari mage, female dwarf rogue, female elf rogue, male elf rogue
* Tier 5 - everyone else
* Basically, the order within tiers flips around (for example, the 'second place' combination has been all five of the Tier 2 combinations at some point during the poll, but none of them have dipped below male human rogue (hence why that one is "Tier 3") or above female human mage (hence why that one is "Tier 1")
* Humans are clearly the favorite race (we knew that, though). 6 out of the top 7 combinations have been the six human combinations since the beginning of the poll. The only non-human option that has made the top three tiers is female elf mage.
* Tier 4 is interesting to me. It consists of all non-human mages and rogues (mostly female). These four keep jockeying for 8th-11th place place (making them in the top half of options). They never drop below into the "Tier 5 category", but the lead is pretty small. Plus, there are some surprising combinations in here: female dwarf rogue? Who knew that this would end up being one of the top half combinations? Especially given the "female dwarves are the least popular option" thing that people assume.
* Outside of female human mage, none of the combinations have had more than 10% of the vote at any point of the poll (beyond the initial few votes). It's actually really spread out in a fairly even way.
Females - 58.5%
Males - 41.5%
Humans - 52.3%
Elf - 20.8%
Qunari - 15.6%
Dwarf - 11.3%
Mage - 38.6%
Warrior - 31.4%
Rogue - 30.0%
* It's been predominantly females since the beginning of the poll. The percentage fluctuated between about 54% and about 62%. But it always favors females characters.
* Humans have been the most popular throughout, but they have never had the numbers that people predicted they would. It's stabilized in the low 50% range. I think it's safe to say that human characters are not 80% of the playthroughs.
* The other three races have been in the same order throughout, but the numbers have not been too skewed. It's been between 10% and 22% for all of them consistently.
* Mages have been the most popular class throughout. Warriors and Rogues flip flop for second place, but it's pretty even in general. All three have consistently been in the 30% range.
I'm happy with the size of this sample. 900 data points is solid (Over 1000 would be better.....
). It's been posted on 6 different message boards about DA: I, so it's fairly representational of that audience: video game fans who follow DA: I message boards online and participate in survey polls. Take that with a grain of salt, obviously.
I'll keep going with this, but my point was to differentiate between the "Who is your first/canon Inquisitor?" polls, which consistently show male human warrior as the most 'popular' combination, with "Which Inquisitors do you play?", which I think is a more accurate question when looking at race/gender/class combinations for the Inquisitor. And I think these results suggest that the results from polls in the former category are a bit misleading.

So we now have almost 1100 votes in this poll over the course of three days.
Since my last post, we've gotten two hundred more votes and the patterns remain exactly the same. I think that this is the way that it's going to shake out. Same tiers, with no movement in or out of them. Same order for specific races, classes, and gender.
The trends in the last post look like they are the real deal. If anything changes, I'll update, but otherwise, this appears to be the way things are as of now with this particular online, message board visiting, fan population (note, not just BSN).
