Went to go get Vyn my warrior Elf a specialization, but the message I read from Cullen about the specialization is this:

I don't approve, but that is irrelevant. You will have the best.

Cullen doesn't approve? Now what? I mean I can get specialization, but every time I am imagining my head Cullen secretly hating me for doing it and looking at me in disdain.

*Curious* What specialization did you pick, and with what race/gender? Don't forget to /spoiler it

He doesn't approve of the mission at the table, yes.

I think it's that two of them are /really/ dubious - one makes you a lyrium addict (Templar), the other has you drinking dragon blood with various psychological and physicial effects.  I mean, frankly, if it was actually /me/ there, I'd be "yeah, I think I'm becoming a champion, not a drug addict or a mutant who lives on pain and terror."

I was going to become an addict drinking blood.

Right.  Watch the animation of dragon rage, say. Realize you're devouring people to heal yourself, and that you get stronger the more injured and in pain either you or other people are.

Dubious.

(I mean, my first 2 hander is a Reaver.  But imagine someone like that IRL.  Nasty.)

It sounds neat. Besides my Elf warrior is an albino, don't ask me how he survived the wilderness as a Dalish chalk it up to magic, and it just fits. Cause I am playing him kind of blunt. Not mean, he knows when to say sorry and he doesn't say **** like your problems don't matter. He just very direct at times.

If you become a templar & speak to Cullen, he actually says he's disappointed you went through with it

It's interesting, is it just the warrior trainers he's not fond of? I can't imagine him being critical of that and then not minding 3 mage trainers coming into Skyhold, one of which Is a necromancer.

Cassandra has something to say when you become a necromancer. I think she is worried that you're obsessed with the dead like her uncle. lol. You get minor disapproval for choosing it. xD

And that's after trying to talk you out of it if you ask him about it beforehand.

My Inquisitor-who-romanced him didn't even bother to ask.

"Sure, honey, stay off the lyrium. Now, how do I become an addict, too?"

ETA: to answer the question above, there's no equivalent disapproval for the mage specialisations from Cullen. Don't know about rogues.

Necromancer has some pretty shocked reactions from a few companions and you even lose approval with a couple for choosing the spec.

I had 1 of my characters become a templar & romance him just to be ironic, a guy trying to get over his lyrium addiction falling for a woman who just started taking it herself & likely a future addict

Cullen just doesn't want some scrawny elf to be tougher than him.

Leliana and Dorian were down with me becoming an elf assassin. Cullen refused to help in one of my operations lol. Also Cullen's comment on the bard operation is priceless.
