Hey guys, I'm wondering which spec is more effective/fun for nightmare. I like 2h but if s&s makes things easier I can go s&s until skyhold and then switch to 2h. Anyone who has played a warrior on nightmare have any opinions?

S&S is easier for sure pre-Skyhold (okay, post-Skyhold too, but everything is much easier post-Skyhold).

S&S mainly has a guard-generating mechanism worth a damn (easier to use timing-wise, doesn't suck stamina, etc.), and the shield's defensive bonus matters more when you don't have overpowered tier 3 crafted armor.

2-handed warrior isn't impossible, but you do have to know your limitations. You almost definitely shouldn't be the primary tank pre-Skyhold.

Thanks for the info! Do you mean I shouldn't be the main tank pre-skyhold only if I'm a 2h? Or can I be a main tank if I'm a s&s warrior pre skyhold

Only if you're a 2-handed warrior should you shy away from tanking.

I find the AI does a good enough job drawing agro with cass and blackwall if specked heavily into the vanguard trees with their SnS talents.. if you can draw the agro and keep guard up yourself, by all means, otherwise I'd recommend going 2H early on and letting the other two be the main tanks. But it just depends on your play style. I personally am doing my nightmare as a rift mage and have only dropped once but that was fighting the overlevelled demons in dwarfsons pass.. other than that cass does not fall and so I get very little damage.
