Just wondering as I'm contemplating a new build. As the title says, did the patch/hotfix fix the broken abilities like immolate that are supposed to be detonators but didn't work?
Did the hotfix fix the broken detonator abilities?

Immolate doesn't detonate combos post-patch.

You and me both mate, I don't get how bugs like that don't get squashed immediately.

Not to mention all the passives that don't even do anything. I was hoping they would get more fixes implemented within a month of release. But I'm still optimistic about patches since they no doubt will want to sell DLC.

They nerf stuff but don't fix bugs. Keeping priorities is important on your single player game i guess.

Agreed. I honestly do not think the nerf was made for single player, but for the multiplayer side. The Arcane Warrior was pretty strong.
But I digress. I've stopped playing because Elementalist / Rift Mage, even though they are my favourite classes to play, as both are neutered by the fact that both immolate and stone fist are bugged. Immolate not detonating is obvious, but although stone fist does cause detonations, it does not cause any detonation damage like it is suppose to.
Been waiting eagerly for either a fan made fix or Bioware to get a fix through for the talents. That will revitalize the game for me, might even consider buying some multiplayer packs then. The lag is an issue, but that's what you get for client hosting.

Not that i enjoy beating a dead horse but no modding tool sucks just for this reason alone. Rpgs are so complex that without modding support they tend to be bugy even after all patches. Bethesda released patches up to 1.9 and there were still a lot of skills, perks etc weren't working.

I started playing a mage and giving my team various different builds and seeing little no detonations is really is disheartening.
There are times when archer's lance/longshot won't proc a shatter but then an immediate shield bash after the arrow hits does.
I rarely get the weakness status on enemies as a rift mage and I think stonefist is broken in so many ways.
Dropped my mage and when back to playing rogue.

Yeah the detonation bugs kinda kill the warrior's 2h tree as well. I really enjoy that tree though so I went with alot of paralyze on my mages for my 2h-champion playthrough as that combo seems to work fine with mighty blow. At least you can prime with pommel strike quite often.
For rift mage you can focus on doing deep sleep (shock + weaken) into eldritch detonator (dispel/energy barrage), plus setting up paralyze or frozen for your companions.

Chiming in on this post to bring to light (hopefully) an issue I find is really important, especially now that 'patch 3' has been announced.
It is appalling that we are 3 months after release and some plainly obvious bugs that should have been picked up in QA tests before release (how can you miss immolate not detonating?) are still not being fixed. Yet, As mentioned above, there was time to nerf skills.
Personally, I've stopped playing and will not be until they are fixed, so that when they are, I can enjoy playing my mage without the constant reminder that the game was shipped in this state. It surprises me that there isn't as many verbose players out there calling out these broken skill combos (Immolate and stonefist are my major concerns). The fact that they spent the time putting walking into the game, a completely superfluous activity, yet made no attempt to hotfix these skills is disheartening.
I just wish they'd hurry up and fix the skill bugs. These skill and combo bugs are the quintessential gameplay-affecting issue. When half the mage talents fail to even work (which granted one was addressed with the mindblast upgrade), it makes playing a mage very mediocre.

This is what annoyed me more than anything. Leaving abilities bugged while the devs go off on some 'balancing' flight-of-fancy implies that whoever is in charge of the devs needs to get a grip on the priorities.

FYI Immolate is now fixed. Only Stonefist is left for the detonators that haven't been fixed yet (yes it detonates, but it does no detonation damage, only the stone fist damage).

I honestly think they did this more for the Arcane Warrior than for the SP. AW is still a beast even after the nerf, he was a monster when he could detonate to heart's content all his team's combos.
Especially when he could vortex + stonefist for sleep then immediately detonate a pack for nightmare detonation damage and fear.

Well, the question there would be whether the AW's spirit blade is linked to the KE's. I can see the logic of what you're saying but you'd like to think the devs have more granularity than that in terms of patching.
