every mainstream media is telling you that this game is 9-10-11-12/10, reality begs to differ

Except not, for a huge number of us on and off the BSN.  I have yet to introduce this game to someone in real life who didn't love it.  And now that the haters have gotten in first here - and have been since long before the 100+ hours needed for a really complete playthrough - the rest of us who adored it are finally speaking up.

Also, all these people who have sales figures at their fingertips - no two reports I've seen on the sales have matched.  They're like snowflakes.  Where are people getting them?  I keep hearing it's selling well, selling terribly, was selling well, is starting to sell well now, etc.  No one ever links these things, and my Google Fu has failed me.

The only concrete piece of information was from Jarrett Lee, who said it was selling much better than either of the previous 2 games, and that a significant portion of sales was digital. Everything else is a bit of guess work XD

Guess work...and I suspect more than a little bias confirmation.  The critics adore it, it's sweeping up awards, and a lot of us are spreading the word that it's an awesome game to our friends.  It would really shock me if it were selling poorly.

But some people around here seem to want it to sell poorly.

I guess people could be waiting to make it a Christmas gift, it came out so close to the holidays.  But I expect the sales to have been brisk.

This is the best game I played this year and I played alot of the games this year. DA:I keeps the old feel the games had back in the days when you couldn't always solve everything by shooting you way out of a corridor map or have everything in quest markers. I have recommended it to everyone I know and I don't usually do that.

It is clearly one of the better games I played this year, but it was a poor year for gaming overall, at least where AAA publishers are concerned. Ubisoft somehow messed up, to varying degrees, almost every title they released this year. Activision's CoD has been on the decline for years. Overhyped products like Destiny and Titanfall turned out to be duds. I wouldn't go so far as to make a land of the blind comparison - I did enjoy playing DA:I, after all - but the competition this year was pretty meh.

Playing DAI is making me miss DAO more. Feel like reinstalling it and playing it all over again.

I installed it and DA2 with the release of DAI. I turned it on last night and the female bodies just... I couldn't do it. I probably will buy a copy of Jade Empire though. I have a hankering to play it again.

I did read somewhere that DAI might be the last in the series, so yeah they might hang it up.

BioWare haven't said anything like that, as far as I know. Do you have a source? Last I heard, Mike Laidlaw was already talking about vague plans for DA4 and beyond.

Yeah, they were speaking of going more north in Thedas.

The haters were already hating before the game was released. Hilarious, to some extent.

I'd like to see that too. The only people who were quoted saying there probably wouldn't be another if it's current game didn't sell was Maxis.

I think you may be misremembering. As recently as October when I saw them at PAX, they were talking about DA4 and beyond.

I mean, I think we all know that if DAI tanks for some reason, the series will get cancelled, but it seems like BioWare want to keep making it.

Rofl its owned by EA guys , come on . They will make sequels until the cash stops flowing.

also its hard to compare DA O to DA I . First fanbase of Bioware was alot smaller back then and also the size of the market has changed since more people own PC/consoles now adays. Also Advertising for DA O compared to DA I might be a major factor

That's just the beginning. They've already won 9, including Kotaku's Reader's Choice awards.

Not particularly, and I'm on a number of gaming websites.

Sadly though according to Vgchartz PC sales had dropped dramatically in the second week. Not that i mind it just means more focus on consoles and the next DA will be awesome anyway with or without them.

omg guys but this game is objectively bad.

They're showing gay people down our throats and feminists rule the Inquisition while there are only 0.2 straight male romance options and a million gay romances.

Every other main story is mission is sex with either gay or transgender characters.

The controls, UI and combat mechanics are not identical to the ones released 5 years ago in Origins.

Where are my desire demons with bewbs??Why can't I have sex with morrigan and leliana?!?!?!??!?!?!Why can't I romance Sera and Vivienne, it must be because of "the gay agenda"Why is Bioware against straight male gamers? They want to force pro-gay propaganda into our homes.

0/10 game is a joke

Bioware forgot to do the most important thing as a developer.Appeal to my priviledged demographic. So I am crying on a game forum.I hope this game burns in hell.

I only bought a single copy of orgins. Not a reflection on the quality of the game or my enjoyment of the game. Yes I also enjoyed orgins a great deal.
I have already bought two copies of DA:I.
A multitude of ME1 copies. Probably around sevenish or more.
Definitely 3-4 copies of DA2, as is the same with ME2 and ME3 in which I probably bought more than 3 or 4. I also bought the trilogy twice. Bring the trilogy to PS4 and XB1 and I will buy it some moar! Really and honestly I will...

When I find a good game I usually will purchase multiple copies for friends and family. As an avid computer gamer since the mid 80's my grown children grew up with computer games. DAoC was our primary meeting place after the divorce and I had to move across the country for my career. So I've bought many games for my two daughters and my son... and now my grandsons as well. My eldest daughter, for example, is right now playing DA:I on her Christmas laptop (Alienware 17')

Truly, multiplayer games across the internet is a wonderful way to spend time with remote family members. If you're in a situation like I was, give it a try. I doubt you will be disappointed.

DA:I won't sell as much as DA:O.

Maybe it won't sell as much but Bioware is ready to give a shot to Multiplayers and give them new free DLC today probably because of micro-transaction ?

https://store.xbox.c...47-b271a1d759a8

While singe players wait for more patches/content.

Not available for PC? <boggle> I truly dread the PC community's reaction to this evidence.

What was the point of this thread? To prove that it's not just "haters" who take trollish, petty jabs at people they don't agree with?

Where did you read DA:I might be the last in the series.

Literally every interview I saw where the interviewer asked this question the devs responded: "No, DA:I is not the last in the series."
