Sadly though according to Vgchartz PC sales had dropped dramatically in the second week. Not that i mind it just means more focus on consoles and the next DA will be awesome anyway with or without them.
VGChartz only tracks physical sales, and obviously in this day and age most PC games are sold digitally.
Glad I was able to purchase DAI digitially, none of the stores where I live have physical copies of DAI for the PC, only for the consoles.

Except not, for a huge number of us on and off the BSN. I have yet to introduce this game to someone in real life who didn't love it. And now that the haters have gotten in first here - and have been since long before the 100+ hours needed for a really complete playthrough - the rest of us who adored it are finally speaking up.

It's normal for this time of year. GTAV on PS4 dropped 51% globally and that's with a huge number of Black Friday deals. Inquisition dropped 47.3% on PS4, which coincidentally is exactly the same as Origins' second week drop on Xbox 360 -- and we all know Origins was a leggy game.

Most likely the only people who bought physical disks for PC are out in digitally underserved rural areas, where 'broadband' is DSL and for most it's dial-up modems. Out in the countryside the most likely case is that those who bought discs are big-time fans who preordered. The rest will wait for Christmas.
The bulk of sales will be digital. There isn't a question in my mind but the game is a solid hit.

I just got access to November NPD data and amusingly it lists DAI as # 10 (because it groups the two Pokémon games together). So a lot of doom and gloom and "DAI bombed" rhetoric could have been avoided (frankly I consider 3DS games so different from us I don't see them as chart competitors but so be it).
Also (I can't give numbers) the delta between most of the games on the chart is *really* small. Then you factor in the date the game was released (example: Unity had an extra week of sales), price promotions and sales for Black Friday (DAI did not go on sale) and we sold very, very well! I wish the whole story had been told when the chart was published.
I have no doubt DAI will outsell Origins lifetime. I'm posting this to reassure people who "worry about BioWare/DA's future". Worry not.

To be fair, when I read your post, I thought it was serious...until I saw the Dorian icon. Problem is, there are too many people who really think like that and write like that. It's too easy to run afoul of Poe's Law on this board.

I think it's easy for fans to start worrying unnecessarily about stuff because we don't have all the information - not just actual sales data that includes downloads, global sales, etc. but the kind of thing we're never going to find out - like the game's full budget and what sales expectations were. (Not that the vast majority of us would have any idea what to do with those numbers if we had them.)

I'm not diminishing anything you guys have done. No matter what I feel about DAI I think you all are going in the RIGHT direction but I think handheld games (no matter the game) still deserve places on the chart. I've spent hundreds of hours on them because no matter what most of them are fully featured games and require no less dedication or time than something on a console or PC. I don't really understand how they can be different because a game is a game no matter what platform it's on.

I don't know if it's that as much as people feel attachment to things they love. They love this game. To have people knock it is akin to kicking their dog. I wouldn't want someone to hurt or talk bad about something I love either.
