Could we please dial down the respawns a little?

Getting rather fed up with constantly respawning wolves, hyenas, bandits etc. that spawn as soon as I turn my eyes from an area for 5 secs...

I love how the game rewards you for exploring and discovering little hidden places, but having to fight 10 packs of wolves for example in the EXACT same spot when trying to figure out how to get somewhere is just stupid(like when trying to figure out how to get up something, but refusing to think it involves near impossible jump puzzles with the incredibly bad jump system).

I have also on several occasions have mobs spawn right behind me where I came from and aggro me. When then forced to go back to kill them and gather loot of the fallen, I get respawns in front of me in the direction I was trying to go in the first place...

I am not saying you should remove the respawns. But could we please have a chance to move through the landscape before it happens? Something like 10-20mins would be reasonable imo. if coupled with a decent exclusion range around the player.

Please don't dial the respawns down because some folks arn't good enough to handle them...  I enjoy farming loot at a fast pace and have had zero issues with the respawn times.  I find it to be challenging at times, but thats what makes it fun.

Do not touch respawns please.

I had this problem in the Emerald Graves. Great Bears and Giants kept re-spawning around me. In the Hinterlands, mage/templar/bandit mobs would just randomly appear behind me. It's really annoying. I hope Bioware fixes this problem soon. It's making the game feel like a chore.

Must say the most annoying I have seen so far is the Exalted Plains. Packs of 5-6 wolves spawn like 10 meters behind you, runs around chasing Halla. Some of the wolves aggro onto you, other just keeps chasing the hallas despite you hit them with aoe etc. And ofc you end up stuck in combat with that one wolf that ran away, or that halla that they were chasing...

And those damn passive mobs are experts in shadowing you for ages it seems, just inside range to keep you in combat, but far enough away for you to not find them/know which one of them it is. So have fun walking around the map in slow motion, or choose to kill all the passive mobs in the area to find that one you are in combat with(by which time new wolves will have respawned...).

Well, fast travel resets some stuff or it seems to. I do know what he's talking about though. I fell a lot my first time at the oasis and it didn't seem like them hyenas would quit.

AHHHH wait one tip I got for you is keep that disengage key handy. Use it in combination with Hold Position to watch enemies fighting. Spamming disengage should allow you to sneak around enemies or run away from battles gone wrong. Yeah, that's right... nobody said you had to die.

I have a mini-tutorial on PC button mapping you can find on my profile under topics.

Yes I think a slightly longer delay on the re-spawn would be a good thing.

I have killed things, ran just a little ways away, then looked at my map, and see and Item back there , and think oh Flitter! I better go back and check that out. And have to kill the same things again, this some times in only what seems like a few second's.

I don't mind it some times, but it seems like the re-spawns may be just a little fast.

I am sure many of you disagree, and I don't blame you if you like the rapid re-spawn, I just sort of wish there was maybe an option to set the delay a little longer or shorter. I am sure that won't happen, but it would be nice.

I hope respawns are removed completely.

Asked if modders can make us norespawn mod - just like the one I used in Skyrim.

Never played Amalur just because of the godlike resurrecting trashmobs design.

Can't understand why Bioware, after ME1-3 and DA1-2 that didn't have this design crime, decided to use MMO decadence in singleplayer DA3.

+1 - YES PLEASE.

It is just frustrating to deal with a fade rift - then have a bear shamble over to you - deal with that, and boom - here come some lyrium smuggler lurkers.  Oh look - wolves.

I remember the devs explaining how, if you kill all the bears in an area for example, the animals that would be prey to the bears would then increase in population. Like an echo-system.

Has anyone had any such experience with the game at all? I sure haven't!

Guess this was but another lie from the mouth of you-know-who....

I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure I wiped out the ram and bear population in the Hinterlands three times over, but they keep reappearing. "Eco-system". Yeah right Bioware. More like "MMO-system"

I don't personally don't understand why people would want them to not respawn it would leave the world feeling so empty "sigh" but each to their own.

I have to agree with the OP - slower respawning would be great.

Right now I'm slowly trying to progress through Western area (name has left me) and I can't go 10 feet without a respawning pack of Hyena's attacking me. It's seriously frustrating how I'll kill the 2 hyena's... and by the time I've moved the 5 feet to get to the corpses and looted them... another 2 have spawned right in front of me and I have to kill them... repeat over and over! Pfft!

I personally didn't have an issue in the Hinterlands, however Exalted Plains was similar with the respawning wolves. However I found the wolves could be avoided. Unlike the Hyena's which never give up chasing you... and will even go really out of their way to get to you if your in 'aggro' range (even if not in sight, or even getting the red dots on radar).

ie I was in a mine, at the bottom level... which was approx the same 'level'ish' as a camp/ground outside the mine where Hyena's spawned... hyena's obviously spawned outside the mine.... and raced up the hill to where the entrance was, and then down the mine just to attack me! Even though I was not in sight, no red marker's on radar... but they knew I was there and attacked! Pffft! And then respawned and attacked again as I was on the way out... *sighs*

Giants are the worse. I fought 7 in a row before I just disengaged and ran.

Who said that two objects cannot occupy the same space?

After a fight some more soldiers materialized in my party group and one soldier materialized in my PC’s body.

I hope we're not talking about Nightmare difficulty here, because I like that feature.

Yes would also prefer respawning to be turned down. Not entirely off, but definitely lower.

I think we're talking about the average gamer who plays on normal or hard. I can understand enemies re-spawning faster on Nightmare difficulty, but it does so much too quickly when playing on lower difficulties. It doesn't make the game harder it terms of difficulty, it's just that it is an undesirable feature for some players.

I would prefer a re spawn frequency setting. Somewhere there is someone that runs to check for re spawn I don't want to eliminate re spawn as it would make the world feel empty but I would like to crank it way, way, way down because there are not as many live bears on earth as there are now dead bears in about a 500 meter square area of the hinterlands.

I would like a setting we can control. Those who want no respawns could set it to that but people like me who just want slightly less could do that. I like that they respawn but I don't want them doing it every three seconds.

There is no fun in beating trash mobs. You're always going to win those fights, all they cost you is time.
So yeah...

Yeah, I actually really like the respawning in and of itself, but the timing can get seriously wonky in some areas -- let me catch my breath, for heaven's sake! It's especially annoying when returning to lower-level areas later, since you don't gain XP from enemies once you're a couple levels past them.

Bears are the worst.  They will literally spawn right on top of you, often while you are in the middle of a fight with something else.

I see this so much in Hinterlands, and I think it's a bug. I can get respawns right on top of me, and then even more as I'm already fighting, and then a third group too.

If you're trying to collect Tier 3 cloth for crafting, you'll wish enemies respawned more often :D

When you first enter an area (especially if you're underleveled) it can be overwhelming, but at endgame I'm having a hard time collecting drop items because nothing spawns anymore.

I agree the respawns are way too quick in certain places. I'm currently in the Western Approach and it feels like hyenas and bandits are constantly appearing out of thin air. Last night I was fighting a group of bandits and during the course of the fight 3 different hyenas and 2 spinebacks (or whatever they're called) entered the fray, while countless fennicks got splattered as collateral damage. The sand was littered with rib cages by the time the smoke finally cleared.
