Just look at what the Elves of the time of Arlathan were able to accomplish! They didn't have a Chantry, or a Circle, or even Templars. Yet, they were able to attain magical marvels that we can't even begin to dream about. There is still so much that we have yet to understand regarding magic and the Fade.

We have no true idea what social structures were in place in Arlathan, and they were able to achieve so much because, according to Solas, they had immortality to achieve it in.

What does it matter to an immortal if a spell takes a thousand years to cast and ten thousand years to develop?

If I had an eternity, a few millennium is a mere triviality ;) Also, I'm going to take Solas' word, considering his origins

And interestingly enough, you find out in the Temple of Mythal that his name is inaccurately translated. He is the Lord of Rebellion, or Noble Causes, not Tricksters. Taking this, as well as his in-game dialogue into account, he could very well be fighting for a new age of Arcane understanding. He tells us of the magics worked by the Ancients, of floating cities, of spells that took years to complete. Hopefully a mage Levellan can effectively put the information from the Well to good use when developing future spells.

Yes the fact that his name ment something and there are ancient elves still implies magicks yet known... we stand on the precipce of trandscendace of magic, time magic; impossible til now we are only tapping the surface

Not only time magic, but magic that is capable of tearing open reality. Also, the Elvuvians were thought to be lost, until the beginning of the Blight. God's are returning to the world, and this alone will open new possibilities.

The thought of being immortal isn't so hard to grasp. Flemeth has shown the ability to transfer her soul into a willing host in order to prolong her life. Also, Avernus uses Blood Magic to extend his life by several centuries. While neither method is particularly ethical, it is a means to ensure end.

Yes immortality the philospher stone of magic the ultimate goal of mages(traditionally). Flemeth said a soul cant be taken unwillingly. Right.. but what about that last exchange between solas and flemeth... perhaps it was like adding more time to their lifespan... or what was that...

I wonder if limbs can be regenerated like a lizard. I know it was shown in the first set of comix (never read em) but the wiki touches upon the stories

I never read the first comics, but I did read through the whole Silent Grove set (9). That one revealed some interesting magical abilities, such as gaining unique abilities after drinking dragon blood. I find this interesting because the Warden gained no special powers if they chose to do this as a mage.

Well becoming a reaver is somewhat a blood ritual. Perhaps they gain more power like in the comics but suffer the negatives faster

What do you mean? Who suffers faster? If I'm correct, becoming a Reaver is completely a blood ritual. The whole thing is an individual drinking Dragon blood.

There's a fun idea that Iron Bull forwards that Qunari horns come from dragon blood given to them by their breeders.

He may be right.

Especially if this has been done for many generations. This could explain many, if not all of the unusual physical features of that race. It makes me very curious as to what the original race that the Qunari came from look like. Iron Bull tells you that they don't look the same for some reason.

Wynne is a special case because the particular Faith spirit that possessed her was her 'Fade guardian' of sorts since she was a little girl. Anders was a nonchalant scampish mage that bottled his anger at the Circle and Templars instead of dealing with it. Then he bonds with a traumatically displaced Justice spirit. It was like combining vinegar and baking soda. That relationship was doomed from the start.

Non-Horned Sten might be an example.

Why they think of him as "great" because he's "pure Qunari" even if most don't know the cultural reason for it.

There's also the fact Kirkwall is Buffy's Hellmouth.

As emotionally unstable as Anders is, it was probably exaggerated by Trauma, The Hellmouth, and Corypheus' nearby psychic impression.
