Seriously? When did you last see a female athlete run like that? Even Ronda Rousey doesn't look that stupid running. Bit sexist if you ask me. I mean maybe some of the girlier characters might run that way but the Warriors? I'd like to see this bit of Misogyny dealt with in future releases.

You really put a question that almost demands a misogynistic answer. Also what bimbos do not deserve to be represented in games or what? Because its either this or running like athlete and I hated that.

Hadn't noticed the walk, though Cassandra does seem to be suffering some odd back ailment.

That's actually THE best solution. Like how they walk? Don't change it. Don't like how they walk? You can pick one out of three.

Agreed! Make it an option. The Japanese Anime run/walk, the athlete run/walk...

Personally I liked how Femhawke moved.

Just because a female is a warrior doesn't mean she has to move all bowlegged and manish. That is the one and only thing I hated about playing Femshep in ME1/2 she ran like Maleshep and it was offputting. I like what they did with Femshep in ME3 though

There has to be some middle ground between Japanese Anime Bimbo and Mannish though.

Been asking myself that for a few years now OP.  I also think it's funny that my lady Inquisitor has that stupid strut in regular gameplay, but uses the male (read: default) animation for the cutscenes.  What's even the point of having two different walking styles at all?

I'll never understand that.

I think both men and women have exaggerated gender gates, men over emphasising shoulder movement and women hip movement.  I see no problem with this its just a design choice.

Misogyny = hatred of women

Do you really think the person who designed this hates women!!  I guess its just a silly exaggeration to get a reaction.

All those years in heavy armor must surely have caused her some back problems.. ;)

I hate the female walking and running animation so much. Why can't the devs animate anything normal and neutral for female characters? Animations don't need to be between hyperfeminine and hypermasculine, there is some kind of middle ground as well. This is like with comic book covers with female characters, they are drawn in unnatural positions that person can't be in without snapping her spine. Same with fem!Hawke walk, fem!Inquisitor at least is more natural but still hyperfeminine. This is game where our character doesn't wear high heels and does lot of fighting, the animations don't just make sense.

Just because a female is a female doesn't mean she has to move all sexy and seductress-like. That is what I loved about FemShep, that she ran like she meant it and didn't care about being sexy.

My female inquisitor, on the other hand, looks ridiculous running daintily in huge heavy armor.

I know that. :P I just loved the effect that had. She was a badass space marine not bogged down by too much "feminine" baggage. It fit.

I prefered the ME1 animations for female Shepard, different but not girlish, before they stopped putting effort into her character & made her male Shep with boobs

I don't like it either but so many people are complaining "My inquisitor sits like a man..waaaaah". I prefer the male sitting because my inquisitor is not going to be some dainty little twit. I wish she walked with less exaggerated feminism. C'mon, she doesn't need to sashay like she's on a runway at all times!

Well I could have done with a little less crotch on display on the throne. And a little less explicitly alpha male body language in general. But the sashaying is just over the top the other way, even though I liked it when she did it in the Orlesian court. It fit there. It did not fit on the battlefield in heavy armor.

Making it an option might be best way forward, As some people are going to want current approach while others want opposite spectrum.

Be happy that we've that animation because that's the ONLY animation specially made for female in that game.

I mean, just look how they sit on the throne in the Skyhold, that's not femine at all, lol.

I haven't noticed, I'm too busy doing things I guess. Have an option for different run animations in the character creator. Problem solved, everyone is happy.

I'd rather have all male animations than have those. I don't get why they have to exeggerate female animations and make them so cringe-worthy. Just have one neutral animation for both genders, that would be good. DAO's situation was best.
