I've noted that the game has been patched recently. Can I now walk using kb&m or is it still beyond the devs? This is a crucial feature for me (along with controls).

You cannot.

The problem is that walking in the game is designed around the analog stick, which provides constant input. A walk toggle would be a state change.

Now, if they had Walk and Run mapped to different keys (W-walk, E-run), I think that would be easier for them, but I doubt they'd be happy with that implementation.

But a  walk toggle can just change the behavior of the "W" key. Toggle on; W = walk, toggle off; W = run. I don't really see how that would be difficult to implement. You'd still be getting constant input when you walk, just as when you run.

I don't see why a toggle, like many games have, would be difficult to add either. Even on PC there are points in the game where your character is forced to walk so obviously the function is there.

This game's controls were designed and tailored for consoles it seems.  KB+M seems to have been only an afterthought. I played Origins, Awakening and DA2 before starting Inquisition, all on PC. All of the previous games allowed us to toggle walk/run with KB+M. It just strikes me as odd that this simple feature couldn't be implemented. I can use either a controller or KB+M comfortably so I'm glad I've never had any problems with that or I'd be SOL :)

Hopefully they will figure out a way to implement a walk/run toggle so I can do a future playthrough using KB+M. In my personal opinion it looks silly if my character is running full speed literally all the time. The more realistic games get, the more i seem to feel this way.

I'm waiting for walking, it's an important roleplaying thing for me.
