So I accidentally sold the miner's wedding ring without second guessing it would end up in my valuables (aka junk) and I can't seem to buy it back from the merchant anymore. I'm so far in to the game to do a reload so basically I'm stuck with a blocked quest and it's gnawing at me for never opening that stupid door!

Not sure if you are talking about Storm Coast 's cave i was trying to go inside to complete Varrics´s quest and that was available once i completed a quest which name i can´t remember sorry. If this is your case just continue playing.

No, Par'as cavern is in the Forbidden Oasis. And the OP seems to be stuck with that quest.
