So I'm an altaholic so I have a bunch of characters sitting around with skyhold and nearly all of them had +3 guard on hit obsidian. Well one of them didn't and I've been playing that character the most recently waiting around for guard on hit obsidian for iron bull and it's been impossible to get I've only gotten 10% chance for chain lightning.

 

So I started doing some digging and everything I found on google was that fade touched obsidian should be providing +3 guard on hit. So I decided to check on my old saves and low and behold, they all have 2 slots for fade touched obsidian now. 1 with +3 guard on hit at 0/1 avail and one with +10% chance of chain lightning at 1/1 avail.

 

Has anyone been able to get +3 guard tier 2 masterworks post patch? Cause I've gotten a crap load of other effects but haven't seen +3 guard since the patch.

It's still in game I'm 99% sure I have got one since then, but I don't use them.

 

There are 2 versions of most fade touched, you must be getting bad luck and just getting the lightning version.

One of the locked doors in Redcliffe has Fade-Touched Obsidian that gives +3 guard. You can either use the respawning of the chest to get how many you want btw.
