Whats the deal with that? In both DA Origins and even DA2 we could kill most of our companions I didn't do it very often but it was nice to have the option
Now no matter how much you hate them you can only send them away, pretty lame if you ask me

I do not like it either. Nor do I like this sudden 'Disney' shift in the tone of the franchise.
This can easily be alleviated by allowing me to use Blackwall as target practice and the ability to orchestrate a hostile takeover of Orlais, Loghain was always right about them.
You're under more scrutiny from the public this time around, and a lot of your companions have influence.
It would be a pain for the writers to have to write a story about the friends of Red Jenny trying to kill the Inquisitor in revenge, and so on.

So they could bring them back if they want to.
I tried to have Cole killed and all that happened is he erased mine and others memory of him being seen.
So they could bring them back i they want to.
That's how i see it, which is perfetly reasonable imo. Plenty of companions seem to be optional which seems a fair enough roleplaying tool.
Killing Blackwall would be completely redundant as he isn't under your jurisdiction until you bust him out. What would be the point of taking him back to Skyhold just to kill him when all he really did to you personally was lie you're basically denying those he actually wronged justice for no reason.I do not like it either. Because the murder knife wanted to take a break from all the love.

I do not like his face nor his personality. That is enough for some of my Inquisitors. Not saying I'd always follow through but at least grant me the damned option.

That sounds like a good recruitment slogan "Come join the Inqusition just don't have a merkable face or we'll kill you"I do not like his face nor his personality. That is enough for some of my Inquisitors. Not saying I'd always follow through but at least grant me the damned option.
Because deal with it.
At least allow us to kick out more, that would still leave them open for return but we don't get that option unless it's Sera.
Murder is bad?
Because it makes for an overly complicated butterfly effect in future games.

What fool would announce their intentions? Much better to toy with your constituents. A bit of a Ramsey/Joffrey approach to the issue for a bit of silly, decadent mayhem.
I think it doesn't really fit the narrative to go around and kill your companions. You are the leader of an organization and accomplishing your goal relies heavily upon your reputation. By being such an major player in the world, your actions will be known by pretty much everyone.
Would anyone really want to join an organization where the leader is a deranged sociopath who kills their followers? I wouldn't.
No one would miss the filthy qunari spy.
The Chargers, all of your companions save maybe Solas, and every Qunari ever would disagree.

This. I think this entire series has taught us time and again what happens to an organization when a deranged madman takes the helm.
Code 187. Murder Death Kill........... John Spartan will not allow it.

Bah! That's what Blood Magic is for. My Magister shall be the Master of Puppets!
In all seriousness, the narrative possibilities are intriguing. I'd like to see a Mass Effect 3 style of handling disagreeable companions in future installments.
You can also tell Cole to leave. Or just not recruit him. You can also deny Viv, Bull, Dorian and Blackwall. That leaves Cass, Solas and Varric as the only non-optional companions. At least allow us to kick out more, that would still leave them open for return but we don't get that option unless it's Sera.
Lot of people were in the Inquisition before you and it's big organisation. If it had homicidal tyrant in the lead, I'm pretty sure lot of people would leave and disapprove.
Doesn't the Envy demon in the Templar mission show what pulling this kind of stuff leads to.
Pfff, PC should be untouchable and free to murder-knife anyone he wishes without consequences.
