As the title says. Anyway, those were two of my favorite games I've ever played to this day and It's only matched by Dragon Age, both games were similar, origins more so, but I think they should pick them back up. I need it in my life XD. Bioware needs to make the 3rd one if so. Obsidian did okay with the second, but Bioware nailed it with the first. Who else would like to see a 3rd installment? Out of curiosity.
Anyone else miss the SW:KoTOR games?

There are a lot of people that want a third KotOR, I remember the SWTOR boards when SWTOR had just been announced, a lot of people (myself included) were unhappy with it being an MMO. Despite what I have said, we will never see a third KotOR because the canon has changed and no one seems to want to continue to work in the Legends universe. The best that we can hope for is a spiritual successor with an awesome setting, story, and characters.
Edit: You should give this a read: http://www.eurogamer...-the-dark-side It is an article that has to do with Obsidian Entertainment, Kotor 3's cancellation and the design process of Kotor 2, it's worth reading the entire thing.

KotOR, Jade Empire and since the DA games are more and more turning into Action-Adventures with RPG elements, CRPGs à la Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter's Night are all games people have a heart for, more for some than others of course. Personally, I'd be looking forward to a Jade Empire 2 (or a JE remake) the most since it's its own potential franchise with a massive setting of untapped potential for both story telling and gameplay.

I like the more direct control and shooter-rpg hybrid mechanics of Mass Effect, so i am quite happy that BW switched.
That's not to say I would be opposed to a new KotOR, I enjoyed the heck out of the first two. Just saying, if I'd have to choose, I'd rather go with an ME style game.

The first one? Not really -- The second one? Nah, I got it right here and I can play it any time I want. But, anyway, I'd like Obsidian to make another one. So I suppose this makes... the fourth thread within a few months that has been about "someone asking for another KOTOR from BioWare".

My main issue with a lot of the older RPG games is that they had fairly clunky combat. KotoR felt like it was the worst of the BioWare games in that regard which makes it hard for me to play through it again, even with the story and characters. Usually I can put up with it for everything else being great in the game, but I just can't do it for KotoR and still be enjoying myself.
I'm still on my "go back and play the classic RPGs" though and am currently working on Jade Empire. Enjoying it quite a bit even with the combat being rough around the edges by today's standards.

IIRC with Disney's acquisition of the Star Wars franchise, they've announced that all future Star Wars movies/books/games/whatever will be strictly set in the new canon that's based on just the movies and Clone Wars. So I wouldn't expect them to authorize any new projects set in the Old Republic era anytime soon, aside from ongoing content updates to SWTOR. I also suspect that when SWTOR runs its course, the next Star Wars MMO will be set post-Return of the Jedi or possibly during the Clone Wars, because movie tie-ins.
So no, we'll probably never see a KoTOR 3. Sorry. ![]()

KOTOR 1 was bad ass. I didn't care much for the second one, it felt really rushed and uninspired compared to the original.

This here is EA's blog: http://www.ea.com/ne...star-wars-games they released it when they announced that they got 10 years Exclusivity for Star Wars games. In this blog, they ask what games people want them to make.
I remembered it and figured that it would be a good way for you to gauge interest in the KotOR series, Battlefront seems to be in the lead based upon what I've seen.

This article breaks my heart.
Thanks.
I could break your heart even more if I could find a specific youtube video, I used to have it favorited a couple of years back, but my computer had issues and I had to send it in and its memory got wiped. I haven't been able to locate the video, despite spending a few hours searching both youtube and google for it. It was a supposed KotOR 3 presentation video that was fashioned like trailer and was just shown to some corporate bigwigs.
It had the Ebon Hawk land on a planet that looked like Korriban, a robed figure and HK-47 step out of the Ebon Hawk. A black-robed figure walks up towards the Ebon Hawk and ignites a red lightsaber, while the hooded figure that stepped off of the Ebon Hawk stares at the camera and ignites his lightsaber, his lightsaber also glows red and dark-side corruption is obvious on his face. The video ends after that, it looked legitimate.

I remember reading that at one point in KotOR 3, HK-47 gets blasted to bits and the player character was going to carry him around in a backpack like Chewbacca did with C-3PO in Empire; HK-47 would shoot stuff while being hauled around in the backpack

The only Star Wars game I miss is the one that ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved. Leaving the fate of one of the coolest Star Wars characters ever, the one my username pays homage to, completely uncertain.

Having a Republic Commando sequel where Delta Squad hunt down Jedi isn't an unreasonable request,
KOTR had it's time.

This. TOR handles Sith better than any other SW game i've played. And as much as you can do dark decisions in KOTOR you never feel like Sith. at least not until last couple of missions. People are just slamming ToR way too much, i personaly find Warrior and Agent plot so much more superior to the 1st KOTOR story.
KOTOR 2 is still my favourite because it doesn't do Light vs Dark, but it studies them and shows strength/weakness of both sides and i find Exile much more interesting than Revan.

well the warrior and agent are nice but personally i prefer the smuggler because
1. every kid and their mom wish to be Han Solo
2. you have a wookie
3. constantly getting shot down by Risha is hilarious
4. you have a wookie
