Has anyone else experienced teleporting loot bags?  I play a mage, so I'm often far away when I kill someone/something.  If its my Quizzy who deals the fatal blow, the loot bag will literally teleport to my feet.  If I kill more than one (like with a AoE spell), they will stack.  I'm not complaining or anything, as it's pretty convenient sometimes, but I haven't heard anyone else mention it.

Yup, same thing. Especially in the emprise quarry, where you can start shooting people from a looooong ways off. Pretty convenient bug.

I don't think it's a bug, I think it's on purpose if you're playing as a ranged fighter, so that you don't lose the loot.

It's silly, but really handy once you learn to predict it.

Yeah, pretty sure it's intentional, for the sake of convenience.

It was super confusing at first but I think it's a good feature.

Yet another feature which would be better if it had been documented.

The entire game is a testament to why documentation is important. Like the detailed statics we get without explanation - what is attack? What does willpower do? What does magic do? Who knows!

I like to imagine the stats are holes in a wall and I'm randomly throwing bean bags at them when I craft gear - ooo some cunning on my mage armor? Sure! I think it helps with crit...but who knows! Those are some sexy looking gauntlets regardles! xD

It's as much of an RNG as anything I do. I know some things are OP - e.g. guard on hit - because damage mitigation is key but as for stats who knows?

They did a great job with the masterwork procs - since you can easily reference those with the named skills in various trees. Just would be nice if there was the breakdown of core stats as we've all mentioned.

I guess I'll take folks' word for it that it's a feature and not a bug. Without any indication one way or the other I'm not sure how you could tell the difference in this case.

I honestly think it may be a bug - it's so hit or miss when it works and frankly I find it jarring. While I want them to overhaul the loot so we can AoE gather everything after a fight, having 2 bags teleport to me while 3 more sit in their normal locations is just wonky and irritating.

Not if you killed the two and your party members killed the other three.  I've only had loot bags teleport when I delivered the final blow as my mage, any one else does it and they stay put

I'm playing as a mage and I honestly haven't noticed this happening, I have to go running for loot bags all the time, but that could be because I'm doing my first playthrough on casual before bumping up to higher difficulties for subsequent goes and my team may just be getting 99% of the kills.

That may definitely explain it but then it's so...I dunno, jarring isn't it?

I think they found it easier to make it happen per person, instead of being like a vacuum sucking to the PC no matter who got the kill.  It could also explain why there's sometimes creature loot bodies way away from where they die, because Varric, Sera or one of the other mages killed it.

While I understand the intended convenience, why we weren't simply allowed to AoE loot instead still boggles me.

Realism? I guess? That's all I can think of really.

Who knows? It could be a design mechanic or it simply could be a by product of pop in.One thing I've noticed about this game is that it has no shortage of graphical pop ins.

Made me laugh - no AoE loot but magical teleporting bags are a go! xD

Hell, I use magic to lift giant slabs of rock and wood - why can't I just energize the bags to me from a distance?!

People might also complain because the first loot bag filled their inventory with a common ring of bleeding, so they couldn't see what all the rest of the stuff was.  Which would lead them to complaining about letting them look at the loot bags individually so that they can pick and choose which ones they want instead of having it all forced on them.

This would be preferable in that with F letting us vacuum everything from a bag already, you could just as easily click/pick what you want and leave the rest in the bag - it's still better than move, loot, leave something behind, move, loot, leave something behind system currently.

Maybe they don't want our Inquisitors to get fat?  I really don't know why, maybe they thought this would be better, or doing it the other way broke things, or they just never thought about it.  Maybe a Dev will shed light on it

Now all I can see when I look at my Inquisitor and loot is imagining her becoming like Bender in Futurama after he goes on a klepto spree and can barely contain it in his chest compartment...
