Does anyone else feel uniquely drawn to the advisors?

My first romance was Cullen, which was nice. Now I'm romancing Josephine twice in a row and adoring it. But something makes me pause when I think about romancing a companion. I'm more likely to give Cullen another shot. They're good, stable people I rely on to do big things and seem like great long-term relationship material. Josephine and I talk and talk and talk, and I love her for it. I was just wondering if anyone felt similarly about the advisors.

I love all the advisors. I only romanced Josephine so far, but I love her to bits. It's a shame Leliana is not available this time because I love her more than ever, but oh well.

I love the interaction between the three advisors at the war table. Over time you can tell that a friendly relationship builds. Of all the guys to romance, Cullen and Dorian are the ones I'm most curious about.

The advisors are my favorite characters, besides Cassandra. Everyone else is OK, but none of them are meaningful to the Inquisition like these 4 are.

Cullen and Josephine are absolutely amazing. Leliana is much darker in DAI and I'm not sure I like it. I romanced Cullen on my first playthrough and I'm definitely going to get my hands on Josie, but I absolutely have to romance Dorian next - I loved every single interaction with him. Who knew a tevinter mage can be so compelling? :)

I find that the three advisors + Cassandra, (to some extent Solas & Varric) are actually the people who are the most connected to the Inquisition. They are the founder, people who were there before the Inquisitor came.

I actually like the whole War Table Banter, there are something warm there. They can be serious to hell, supporting each other morally, or just plain joking (that Lake Calenhad Looks Like a Bunny thing or Hair Discussion or Josie-Leliana general banters).

Not really no. Unless you count wanting to stab Cullen every time he speaks being uniquely drawn to the advisers.

They definitely gave the story depth at first. I was drawn to Cullen, for sure, but he's also a recurring character of the series. I also think that they may've even been fleshed out more to make up for the fact that 3 of them weren't active party members

Cullen and Leliana were major characters in previous games so it's natural players would feel more attached to them. They're also players in the main plot while the majority of the rest of the companions are recruited through side quests.

Additionally the advisors are much more the Inquisitor's equal in terms of power within the Inquisition so it removes the sexual harassment angle some people felt when romancing the companions.

Leliana has always been my favourite character. Cullen grew on me this game and I ended up rather fond of him...but while Josephine was nice, she never really stuck with me, honestly. Didn't dislike her by any means, she just felt...there.

Might make a character who romances Cullen one day. Leliana and my Warden are still star-crossed lovers and all so I'm glad she wasn't an option...not sure about Josephine.

Nope.

I was actually annoyed a great deal , advisors get more story spotlight when it comes to the Inquisition business ( well if you don't count Cass and Solas)

I don't hate the advisors , I find Cullen and Josi really nice but also really really bland .(Leli still scares me a little).

So I force myself to talk to them , and deal with their ...stuff.

Josi is a snorefest , she's just too sweet too professional too ...you know she's that girl in school who always got the best grade , was really pretty , was really nice , and you have to wonder "is she for real , she's so sweet I want to pull her hair".

She's Liara from ME1.

Cullen is also the too professional , and every mistake he made he learn from it ...

Just those dudes were obviously written to be liked , and they are there to be supportive no matter what.

Cass is also a bit like that , but at least she's grumpy from time to time .

You know "disgusted face", tries to strangle Varric, hit Iron Bull with a stick.

I felt more drawn to character like Sera (even if she's sometimes a bit of a moron) pulling pranks and talking about cookies on roof .Dorian is also very nice but when you take him on quests you can be sure you will hear him moan about something (he's too cold , there's no tavern around , dragons ruined his day ...where's the wine...wtv)

Companions overall are way more fun for me.

I agree the advisors feel more fleshed out. I swear other than Leliana, Josie and Cullen have the most cutscenes. I also adore Dorian but he gave me his friendship scene almost right after getting to skyhold and then he didn't have much to say through out the rest of the game.

Iron bull took longer to give me his friendship scene, but after I got it, no more cutscenes. But who knows, maybe it was just because the game was so much longer than da2 I felt like companion cutscenes were lacking.

That being said I would have LOVED to bring Cullen along in my party more often. I've been dying to have him as a companion since DA:O.

I think they did a great job of making them just as, if not more so, compelling as the companions. I like Josephine a lot and I sort of liked Cullen and Leliana coming into DAI, but I've not been converted to a Cullen fan and being tepidly positive about Leliana.

They're all okay.  I like having them around, but I can't say I'm uniquely drawn to them in any particular way.  And I can't say that the romance with them is very appealing to me.  It's, well, nice, I gues but altogether too safe maybe, for my tastes anyway.

I do appreciate Leliana more than I ever did previously though.

I'd have to disagree with Josie being the Liara of ME1. The problems with Liara were that everyone talked about how great she was, that she was completely useless to the story, and she was shoehorned in with all the grace of a dying elephant. Josephine is plot relevant from the beginning, her ambassador duties are only talked about after she does things to earn it (War Table missions) and Josephine is only relevant during missions.

I was drawn to the advisors too. It felt like I was running a group, and the banters during the War Table (as well as their plans to deal with the problems that happened) really gave me insight into their characters. Varric and Cassandra were great characters, but yeah, the advisors were wonderful as well.

Perhaps it doesn't count, but I absolutely feel that way about Harding.  I wish she had a more continuing and prominent role beyond those initial area-entry.  Ah, redheads.

I was very happy with how the advisers turned out.  I love Traynor and Cortez, but they never really felt like part of the crew, except maybe in Citadel.  Luckily, they're more on Joker's side of the spectrum.

Here, your advisers are constantly involved, helping lead the Inquisition. They had relationships with each other and the rest of the inner circle.  They had their own opinions on the Inquisition and what it's goals should be.  They had interesting, drawn out companion quests.

They felt like party members, and I loved it.

I actually liked romancing a character who was an outsider who joined the Inquisition later, it gave a unique perspective. That said, I do like all the screen-time the advisers get since we can't usually take them out on the field with us and see their reactions unfold as main story events occur.

If they made Josephine a Mage and made them all party members, my Party would always be Cullen, Leliana, Josie, and Inquisitor. I would see no need to bring any of the others aside from maybe Cass once in a while and Varric to adamant.

Oh how I wish they were party members....

I felt a little more drawn to the advisers.  for some reason, the companions, minus cass, varric, and solas all feel kid of jaded... i mean the only time we get to see blackwall, cole, bull, sera, dorian, or viviene interact is either off screen or during party banter.  It just feels like the other companions are just there and arent really apart of the inquisition or even friends for that matter.  We see cassandra try to take varric's head off for lying about hawke, then we get to see varric tease cassandra about his book.  I guess we do get a scene or two for cole's personal quest with him, solas, and varric... as for the rest though, they just kind of isolate themselves from each other.  Thats why im not drawn to the companions as much.  The advisers have multiple scenes with each other and interact a lot in the war room, it just gels so well that i cant help but get drawn in.

The only one I feel this way about is Sera.. but alas I've only played male characters so far.

People might laugh at this, but I think she fits the Inquisition better than most (funnily, she's the only one you can kick out for not "fitting the Inquisition"). She's an idealist in her own way, and her simple interests in common folk (and being fairly Andrastian) line up pretty well.

I love the advisors, but the romances wih them aren't as fun because you can't play dress up with them, which is my favorite part, sigh. Oh Cullen, the monstrosities I would craft for you.

I guess this makes as much sense as Sera joining to me. Lol
