Give him some time to mature and I'm sure he'll be alright. I agree with what Sim said that his main issue was that he just tried to hard. There's a couple younger people here that are pretty decent to talk to, but sometimes you get ones like Gundam or Nate which just feel like they are trying to hard to make themselves known and be "that guy"

Back on topic. Because let's face it, I've been off topic myself and so have most of us here.

This shouldn't be about the guy who posted the opening poster but the actual content of the opening post.

 

This content is about a 27 year old who is dating a 37 year old. This older lady is wealthy, intelligent and a doctor.

Now I can't see how someone would have zero ego having scored like that.

 

I am assuming that this person is an intelligent person, with a good understanding of people. What a lot of us don't realise that doctors need to have great people skills, particularly in light of the Patch Adam's revolution (something one film failed to do any justice too). Doctors are required to not only have great bedside manners (which let's face it that was always a requirement) but in addition be a source of comfort to patients during stressful times whilst keeping professional distance. They must connect with the patients but without getting close.

 

This lady has probably been in the medical profession for some time, and has seen the best and worst of humanity. She has seen people in crisis, troubles, strain and anguish. She has probably been able to resolve some problems and unable to resolve others. She has probably been through the trauma of people dying. Not to mention a myriad of stressful bureaucratic and emotional situations that have weighed her down.

 

What I'm getting at is, the nature of her job and the stuff she has to go through as a doctor has probably made her wiser than most people. She is probably the person who is less likely to toy with the younger man's emotions, as she has probably been on the receiving end herself. This is probably an intelligent person who understands people, and that knowledge and ability to cope during stressful times could be the life line should any troubles arise in the relationship.

 

 

Of course, I am making loads of assumptions here. I don't have much life experience, but damn, if I was dating someone who matches all of my above assumptions I'd think of myself as the luckiest man on the planet.

I agree, Justmymoniker is 17 I think and he is one of the coolest bsn'ers I know, so it's not always about the age of course.

A couple of the posters in the anime thread are a bit younger and almost all of them are decent I find.. Hell a couple are even more mature then me probably

Age gasp means more the younger you are! The older you get, the lesser it means

This. When a boy is eighteen, a twenty five year old woman is a bit much. When a man is fifty five, a sixty year old woman is not necessarily out of range. The gap gets wider with a younger woman, of course.
