in haven after acquiring Cole from the templars quest if you ask him how he feels about templars he says its like they are reaching for something older then magic and says its like how he feels near verric and the inquisitor if hes a dwarf. this is also followed up by what Kieran says when a dwarf inquisitor meets him for the first time..along the lines of your small with out the titans..this leads me to think that the dwarves where much bigger a long time ago and lost their true power and connection to magic.. much like how the elves use to be immortal. any thoughts?

Wouldn't surprise me considering the revelations about the elves and hints about the Qunari.

So... Are humans special in ANY way? It sounds like literally all of the other races have some big dark secret in their past and power in their blood. How are humans running the world?

I guess if the Maker's real being His Favorites would give us something.

considering that humans over took a race of immortals and spread out over the entirety of thedas relatively unchecked.. also humans have been the largest and most powerful military force known to thedas

I wasn't sure I liked the notion of qunari being mixed with dragons. To dragons what humans are to chimps, that was fine. What Iron Bull and Corypheus says makes me wonder though, of what came first.

As for dwarves, didn't the lore say they used to have mages? I'd love a future game to end with the dwarf PC or Dagna showing magical inclination, and the game after that allowing dwarf mages as a class.

I think they use to.. but I also think they use to be bigger.. much bigger.. if you have dagna look into the red lyrium for the red dawn quest she says strange things about being as tall as a moutnan and how all the dwarven thoughts where her thoughts

Well, the human empires are the youngest ones, besides the Qunari who are newcomers entirely to Thedas.

Maybe the original purpose that made tevinter was to sever whatever power the dwarves and elves had that humans did not, effectively crippling both races who then warred among thelselves.

Then the humans only had to build their houses of the bones and ash, and thusly was the Tevinter Imperium born.

Yeah my question is "How the heck did we do that?". We beat down these more powerful races yet we seem to be fairly mundane. Why are we so successful?

Edit: I just remembered both the Old Gods and The Maker are said to have spoken to humanity and marked them as special. I just wonder why of all the races these entities would choose the ones that are so... Pitiful in comparison.

The theory I heard was that she was communing with the stone.

And I like that idea, Dane. Maybe it was a secret mission, and only Corypheus knew?

The Maker apparently really does favor humanity which is why he got pissed when they started consorting with demons especially the four forbidden ones and worshiping the old gods though I am sure the elves wreaking themselves with civil war didn't hurt either.

Combination of things, including timing, numbers, and "good ol'" fanaticism.

The elves (Ancient Elves) caused their own downfall, and humans mopped up what was left.

Dwarves have been so mired in their traditions for too long, combined their own infighting and the existence and continual battling of the Darkspawn, that they've been declining so rapidly they had no choice but become smaller territory wise.

Human populations grew very quickly, and the spread of humans was fast and aggressive.

As for The Maker marking humans as special... So far, and probably for the foreseeable future too, The Maker is purely based on faith. No evidence whatsoever to his/her actually existing, or if it's a singular being or something more like a pantheon of "higher" deities.

Frankly, I don't want them to ever clarify the existence or non-existence of The Maker. The Chantry and The Maker are already too much like real world relgions.

However, if down the line they do show evidence of The Maker, I honestly hope that it's not as an "all powerful omniscient being", instead being either the "first born" of the gods, or once existed and split itself into pieces to create the other gods in the first place.

I think it was more like dagna was tripin.

and the Qunari dragon thing was more likely an old wives tail.

I heard they don't plan on confirming anything about the maker or Andraste, which made Corypheus and his whole shtick a really weird villain choice, I thought. Or a mishandled one.

David Gaider has stated that he will never tell us whether or not the Maker is real.

So Qunari have horns because someone's wife once had a tail?

Funny enough cole says to bull he should of called himself the iron dragon since his horns are so similar to them. XD Oh and bull was pretty upset since it does sound better.

I personally think we might get to see sandal in a dwarven inquisition DLC or in the next game that has loads of dwarf lore. Hawke even says that sandal might be a mage, who knows he might be the closest thing to a dwarf version of a mage or closest to what the dwarves were possibly before which were the "Titans" we are talking about.

Dagna seems to hear the "voices" for a bit after the quest maybe that's what Sandal hears all the time and where he got his prophecy from in DA2?

I like to think that Qunarri where more like the darkspawn ogres.. massive beast men with horns.. but after countless generations of selective breeding made them the way we see them today

I remember reading that Dragon Age: Origins was going to be a PC exclusive game, Mass Effect 3 wouldn't end with just "Choose A, B, or C", and that the engine for Star Wars Galaxies couldn't handle atmospheric flight for player ships. All of the above were official statements at the time they were made.

A tad facetious (okay, more than a tad :P ), but point being plans can change.

One more note the frozen ogre in DA2 when Hawke asks him about it he call its "Not enchantment" I mean we now know that dwarves used to have a form of magic going by what we found out in inquisition.

I want DA4 to focus on the awakened, and part of dealing with them will be to go to Kal'Sharok. ^_____^ With Dagna as a companion and the "tied to the plot" LI in the manner of Alistair, Morrigan, or Anders.

"The stone sleeps beneath Orlais." Aren't the Kal'Sharok wartable missions on the Orlesian side of the map?
