I'm so happy you enjoyed your game. I loved this game too, so much so that I'm replaying my first character in a completionist run except I switched to Archer instead of DW. I'll report my total hours once I've finished. My first game was 120+ and I hadn't finished everything.

Even though there definitely are things I would change with this game, overall I loved it!

I just finished my first playthrough at level 23 and +180 hrs.

Im up to 120 hours and I think this game blows away DAO and DA2 easily.  To many people want simple narrow path minded games. This game is so much more open and more fun to play than the previously 2.

Thank you BioWare :) :)

I'm glad you liked the game.... By the time I finish, I'll surely have like 200 hours of gameplay. I always try to do as many quests as I can before moving on with the story.

I'm played Skyrim a lot , and I think that this game in it's vanilla state is better than Skyrim even with it's imperfections.

2 playthroughs, both close to 80 hours. About to replay Origins and Awakening/2 for the first time.

Damn, you hit level 24?!  Challenge accepted.

Nothing to be proud of. There is no challenge in accomplishing that.

My characters were at least 26 before the steamroller ran out of gas, and the game ended.

The levels just pour on at the end.

The only thing I think the game needs is more cinematic story quests in the open environments, if it had more of that but without sacrificing anything else be even more amazing, skyrims **** in comparison and I loved skyrim, da.I is way more hand crafted, love the lore and codex entries everywhere, really makes you believe in it all, I think I'm getting near the end now, still got fallow more, emarald grave, de lion, hissing wastes to go.

Played about ~200 hours as well, testing with all three different main classes (finished only one). Attractive game with many good things but also with a bunch of imperfections that deny it a place among the top rpg games. I doubt I will finish my other character playthroughs, just checking out Emerald Graves zone that I bypassed the first time and then uninstall for good.

I love this game since I don't feel strongly to beat it right away. I played a templar warrior to level 18 and the winter palace, then started a mage to do the other rp

tonight my level 10 mage's crew strode into in a boss room and got surrounded by level 12 henchman. This game DOES conflagration!

tg he was weak to fire

I am roughly 70-75 hours into the game and currently building enough power to start What Pride Had Wrought.  So the below is without finishing the game, and I am eagerly waiting to see how it all comes together.

Good

One on hand I am thoroughly enjoying the game.  The characters are nicely written, deep, and having multiple companion quests per companion is great.  The environments are great to explore.  The story quests that I have experienced so far are really good, engaging, and presented very well.  This game is a serious contender for Game Of The Year, although this year has been plagued with a lot of garbage so there isn't (in my opinion) a lot of competition.  Crafting and customization is really good.  It really is a good game, although there are some things I would certainly change like most other games...

Bad

On the other hand though I do feel that there is a too much filler in the game, and you need to complete some to get the power levels that are needed to progress the story.  I love long, huge, open world RPGs as much as the next person, but I am about level 15 and I feel like I am just grinding things to get more power.  I have finished up a good portion of the companion quests that I can without going all over the place and meta gaming each "collection". I feel like I am low on power and constantly going into each story quest at the minimum level.  Which isn't the end of the world by an means, but shows I am wanting to skip through most of the side content.

I am getting pretty tired of the collect/fetch/kill y/x and return to the quest giver.  And quests like needing to kill Quillbacks (I think), and the game forcing me to kill 5-6 of them right around the quest marker... all while they haven't dropped the body part I need.  Notice I said body part, these quests are so boring I couldn't even tell you what body part I am suppose to have, but I know I don't have it due to the quest not updating.  Why am I not getting the stuff I need for the quest?  Why the random drops, is this an MMO?  I certainly hope things like these are bugs, and not some idiotic drop system making me kill the same animal 5-6 times when I am already overleveled for the creature.  Some of the quest design and drop structure reminds me so much of an MMO, and I get the same feeling playing this game that I got when I played SWTOR...  Which is basically...  Absolutely love the story, and gameplay is some what grindy.

I also find myself fast traveling around the zones way more then I'd like because of the mob/respawn structure.  I constantly get sucked into trash mobs that offer little to no effort to beat, and most are enemies that I have already killed at one point already.

Summary

My plan to is get enough power/levels to finish the next two story quests, kill all the dragons I can, and then finish the main story quest.  I will definitely go into the few zones I have yet to enter (Forbidden Oasis, Exalted Plains, Emprise Du Lion, & Hissing Wastes) to see what content they provide.  I hope the zone quests are as interesting as Crestwood, which is my current favorite of the bunch.

I would play this game easily for 200+ hours, including multiple playthroughs if there was just a bit more variation in the quest design.  I hope my response doesn't come off as more negative then positive, but I am just reallllllly hoping the content I have yet to see really pushes this game into a level of "great" versus only being "good" at the moment.  There is some truly interesting stuff in DAI, I am just wishing more of it was...

I got to level 24 and clocked 450 hours.....

*long pause*

....well, I exaggerate. My PS4 says 450 hours, but that's because it counts pause time. /sadface

I was really hoping to reach the fabled level 27, but I got to the point where I just needed to take a break, particularly leading up to christmas, so decided to finish the game. Also, I think from L24 to L27, any attempt would be met with a super load of grinding, as not many enemies were giving XP by that point, and there were only collection quests left, and most of those were completed.

Definitely looking forward to another play through, this time with my partner as the key decision maker (i.e. world state, race, choices, etc) and we've decided we're going to leave it until the second half of next year. I'm gonna be giving him the Mass Effect crash course in the mean time :P

Brilliant game. My personal GOTY and well worth the wait.

is Lvl27 the level cap ?

I'm near Lvl21 and I already see a difference btw Lvl19 --> Lvl20 and Lvl20 --> Lvl21 so I can't imagine the grind to reach 27

Not that many hours into it, at least yet.  But, level 22, 80 hours, and for me not just game of the year, but one of the best games since the start of the PS3/360 generation of consoles.  (I'm playing on the PS4)

I take it you haven't played The Last of Us

But yes, it is a good game. Level 22, 70 hours and counting.

Wow. a positive thread about DA:I & it hasn't been hijacked by the usual "EAware sucks, DA:I sucks & your a dumb biodrone for enjoying it" comments, is nicely surprising :o

Finished my first playthrough last Sunday at 3 AM with my Dalish rogue, level 24 and 170 hours.  Semi-completionist - did most of the quests, missing a few collection items and had a great time.

Started Sunday afternoon with my Dalish mage, am now 19 hours in and I've already found stuff I missed in the first playthrough in areas I thought I had checked thoroughly.  I did leave the Hinterlands much earlier this time and have been traveling between zones a bit more rather than simply trying to push through and complete each area.  Doing more crafting early on than I did in my first run when I was still trying to figure everything out (I do love the crafting system).

I do have to say I think this may be one of the best Bioware games. It's certainly my favourite over KoTOR or JE now. But I've always liked dark horse games.

My completionist run was 256 hours with my human mage Inquisitor hitting level 24. Had an absolute blast with this game. For my current run, I'm going to try so hard to not do every quest. It will be a struggle, I can already feel it.

172 hours. Level 24. Unstoppable force of nature. Left a few collections incomplete, a few requisitions unfilled, a few landmarks unfound, a few several many war table missions unfinished, and Cole's hat unworn, but still loved every second of it.

And here goes 2nd play through....first was the female dalish archer, really enjoyed that more of a ranger type but I may try another class?

...then again perhaps not since first run was just so much of a blast! ;)

(PS) Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

I got to level 25 and completed the playthrough in 120 hours. Did everything I could in the game. It's crazy how you can have a 200 hour playthrough when I thought I took my sweet time with the game.

Three playthroughs so far.

Gonna go for a 4th if I can find a way to make a pretty female Elf. I'll get back to you on that :P (on the plus side: found out how to get rid of the overbite every character seems to suffer from, so that's good I suppose :P)

I just suck it up and roll with my characters appearance, can't stand rerolling that far in...though I did recreate my Dalish about 5 times in the prologue. Only problem now is her makeup, way too heavy, but eh it suits her. I dealt with my Mage having grey hair when I wanted it to be black for 80 hours :P

The black hair turning gray is killing me.....About 11 hours in on second play through.... I'm not gonna make it.

How do you guys stand doing multiple playthroughs with the banter the way it is? Or are you not affected by the bug? (Regular banter every 20 minutes or so)

My banter appears far more often than that, even when using the same party. But then, I often stop to Search, and do not sprint very far away before Searching again; one cannot have too much Elfroot after all....
