What do you think of your PC's voice and the little lines you're given for fetching things and battle?  Which voices do you prefer?  Do you think it adds or takes away from your roleplaying or is it a non-factor?

I dislike a lot of them, actually, so all my human characters end up with Violent voice and all my elf characters with Experienced (I play only females, for reference).  I guess they're all cousins or something!

For my first HNF, I thought it was a great complement to her character.  The prissy English accent and smart-alecky battle commentary fit very well.  Favorite lines:
"Can I get you a ladder, so you can get off my back?"--> when sent to fetch.  I know some people hate this line but it always made me LOL and seemed so perfect to my character.

"And thus I cloak my naked villainy."--> rogue when stealthing, another LOL

There are a few more battle taunts I like, but not thinking of them at the moment.

When playing Male Suave, I got tired of "A finer scene of carnage I have yet to see!"



I think they all get a bit repetitive.

Human female violent is my personal fave. One of the elven females I like as well, though i have so many elves i dont know which it is anymore, but its pretty sarcastic as opposed to violent, mocking the prey as though they are so cute Am I correct that some of the voice clips are done by main character actors? The violent human noble sounded remarkably like Anora. And parts of the violent male ( i think it is ) sound like Teagan, and a couple lines sound like Loghain. Of course, I hear Jowan and Loghain - like voices in various places through the game I hear someone nattering on as I run by and I stop - hey whats Jowan doing here in Lothering?! Run around to see who it was And yet somehow I didnt get an "Easily sidetracked" achievement. lol



When i first used the violent human female one, she kept snapping " Should i get you a ladder, so you could get off my back?" almost all the time. I dreaded it thinking i would be hearing that the entire game, despite being a great line. Then she just stopped. She seemed to use that line more before mum and pop did their dispatch...

I usually use the 'sultry' set for mine. They usually are silent, except for "there's blood on me", and "alright then/of course" when she's asked to fetch somthing/open doors, etc.

I like it that her "there's blood on me" indignant voice so dovetails with Zevran's "I don't want to get blood all over me", heh.

The elf male violent has a repetitive one that was at first good, but got old FAST. "Would you like a ladder.........so you can get off my BACK!!!" >.<

*all* the violent voices regardless of race or gender seem to be obsessed with ladders, so I avoid them completely

I just discovered that with my HNF and regret the choice of violent voice so much right now. One more ladder comment and she's scrapped ><.

I think its the "experienced" female voice - "my warden sense is tingling" - keeping me entertained for now

So long as its not an intermitent "you must gather your party before venturing forth" I can deal with it.

Hmmm.... I usually use experienced or wise, just because I liked the sound of the voices better, but If they say different things, I'll have to try the others.

I love it when you direct her to do something and she says "Oh, right!" like she forgot she was supposed to be killing something. Also, there are a couple of good lines when you've been standing around for awhile: "And you'd think we wouldn't just be standing there, but noooooo." and "Why don't we get an ale since we've stopped?"

The voice I'm using right now is driving me up a wall... Sometimes she's got a sweet voice but then she gets this deeper voice like she's been smoking too much n it's starting to become annoyin lol... My favorite so far have been the sultry n the experienced, especially the "My warden sense is tingling." the first couple of times I heard that I was thinking did she just say what I thought she said lol

It's not the voice I find annoying, it's more what they say. "Can you get off my back?" What?

So far this is my favorite. Is there any way to find out who voiced these? The voice seems really familiar, I wonder if I would recognize the actress from something. I can't remember exactly what she says but when she detects a trap - "It's so simple, really" - it's perfect.

Don't care much for "violent"- had to reroll a character due to the constant ladder line.

haha that must be the one i was thinking about because i can hear those lines in my head as you wrote them   And the " awwww, look it wants to fight!" in that sing-song-y mocking voice along with " What, you want to die?" lol  I use that on my dalish archer/rogue smart-ass elf.  Suits her to a T.    As does violent for my human noble female.  The ladder stuff *did* stop being so repetitive, at least it did for me.

Yes, i do think that  I said it when i was babbling the first time up above lol  But yes, i personally think it is an am glad i am not the only one!

hehe. i can neither confirm nor deny this.   But, at least we have company.    ( I still think we may be right! lol)

I kinda like the 'cocky' voice but sometimes I get tired of her saying "SUCCESS!" when ever I unlock a chest. :-p And the 'experienced' takes a close second with 'sultry'.

I usually find that each race has one voice which sounds normal and the rest seem a little too much. But mabey being from England I just don't like the ridiculously over the top british accents of some of the charecters.



btw, I hated that laddder comment, it was like all the elf ever said and it was so annoying right from the first time I heard it.

Same voice actress (Mika Simmons), for human female. (elf female is Cree Summer)

I use the top one for my elf, but I'm not wild about it. I like the human female top one - wise? I love the male human top one - wise, too, I think. Elf males have a few good ones. I think the one I liked best is mystical (which was horrid on the girl) The dwarf girl cocky was cute - dwarf male suave was really charming.
