There's one elf one that says something like, "armed & dangerous, ready for action!" I want her dead.

So others don't like the Violent voice- I get a kick out of it, myself. She goes off on people during battle, it's fun. I keep listening to it and sometimes I wonder if the voice actor is the same who did Anora. Any thoughts?

Same voice actress (Mika Simmons), for human female. (elf female is Cree Summer)

Yeah I know.  Now that I've married my HNF off to Alistair, I'm disturbed that she's got Anora's voice.  I mentally soften it a bit.  :)

I agree with Guardian4379. I deleted a character after 3 hours of play time because of that comment. I picked it because I thought he would be violent to the enemy - not me. Another voice I avoid is Male Sultry. Jowan does that voice and there is no way his whiney voice is coming out of my character.

Favorite voice is female elf sultry. I am not sure if it is the same as human female.

It is. She's voiced by Kath Soucie, who is also Connor's demon and Marjolaine. I wish they hadn't used her for both elf and human sultry because I don't think her cutesy high-pitched voice works for sultry at all.

She and Jowan's actor both have voices that are really easy to spot.

I'll always prefer the violent voice for the human female, although I'm a bit saddened that there's no cocky option, which would have been better for my mage. Ah well.

I must be the only person in all the world who isn't bothered by the ladder comment.

If you play on the PC there's a mod for removing the ladder comment http://dragonagenexu...file.php?id=867, lol.

I use the cocky voice for rogues and the wise for my mage and have tried some of the others but I just can't stand the tone of the sultry voice for any race, I wonder what people see in it.

I believe I chose the "wise" voice for both my human female mage in Origins and my male human Orlesian rogue in Awakening. What got me was that my Orlesian sounded totally British. My Orlesian has a Picard complex!

His best line, though, was in the Blackmarsh, when I clicked on a tear in the Veil and text appeared onscreen saying, "It is not possible to pass through here."

My Orlesian replied, "Are you quite sure?" as if the tear had spoken to him. It cracked me up.

QTF, my first char was a violent dwarf commoner, and every time I looted something THAT line would play. Even selecting them. OVER AND OVER. That char was deleted before that Origin was even complete.

My favourite dwarvern male voice tho is experienced or wise.

I use a mod that makes it so you can turn off the voice at character creation. I found it annoying that I constantly spouted random things every time I unlocked something.

Apparently, Orleasian Wardens sound like British coalminers.

Ah! Me too. That's so redundant but I like the aggression in the voice especially for a human female; however, that one line! NO. :pinched:

Voices I really like:

Female Elf - cocky
"Let's not and say we did."
Male Human - Suave
Female Human - Experienced

Doesn't bother me, I think it's funny and for my first HNF, at least, fit the slightly prissy personality I imagined for her.

Using Dwarf Female cocky voice for the character shown in my avatar, and loving it. Fits her really nicely and greatly aids me in the mental roleplaying.

Yes the ladder line was really bad, I deleted a character and restarted from scratch because I could not bear to hear that ladder comment one more time.

I like both the elf and dwarf female cocky voices. The female elf cocky has an especially wicked laugh.

I swoon over my male Cousland's voice- the "cocky" set. He has some funny lines, too. "Saving the day!" "Was there ever any doubt?"

I love the female violent voice, especially when she yell in battle: "Its a massacre! And no one's getting out alive!!!" She sounds like such a complete nutjob, I love it.

The ladder line though....that has to go before I throw my controller through the TV.

I think the voice plays a big part in characterization so I make sure I go over the voices very carefully before I start a new game. Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this? D:

But anyway, favorite voices so far are wise for humans and cocky for elves, both for females; I haven't gone through the game with a male character yet.

The wise set fits so well with my Human Noble, being the cunning dutiful thing that she is. And I find it the most tolerable amongst all the voice sets under human female.

And as for cocky, well... it's no mystery why I chose that for my City Elf. I love it how she laughs and cheers after a successful kill. It's kind of creepy in a cute sort of way. xD And I think the vibe you get from this set complements Zevran's personality a lot, which works out well for me because that's who I paired her up with. CEF/Zev ftw. 8D

100% agreed.  I love the fem-elf cocky voice.  I wish it was available for HNFs.  For my males I usually choose cocky or violent.  The ladder comment doesn't bother me at all actually.

All the voices are pretty fruity except for the male Human noble experienced. My favorite lines are "CRITTERS!" when beasts attack, and "would you look at the SIZE of that thing!", I can't stop myself from saying thank you out loud every time.

For someone who was asking how to know which voice set you have for your characters, you can see it in the story.xml file in the folder with save files.
