So what happened to that "there's a timer for main quests so that you don't end up wandering the hills for eternity" thing? Is it still in the game? I don't notice it. The only timer I know of is during the Winter Palace quest and the horse racing side quest.

How would you get any gathering for crafting done, or run way out of route to get around a mountain if there were timers like that? I'd not play if there were, maybe I need to get 20 elfroot while enroute to a quest destination, or there is a mountain between me and the destination I have to go around or find a way through, maybe other quests pop up along the way.

I suppose there's that. I'm just afraid it'll be like Skyrim, eventually. When I go off to gather resources and what not, ignoring the main quest and maybe not even doing side quests, I lose the story momentum. I just thought a timer would help prevent that. It sounded like a good idea to me.

I don't remember them ever mentioning timers for main quests, just the keep attacks which were cut entirely.

I hate timers/timed quests with a passion and I'm glad there's very few of those in DA:I. When I play a game, I want to do so at my own pace. I always get stressed while playing if there's a timer for something.

There are 2 War Table missions that are timed (that I know of) which was already really annoying... I would go crazy if they did that with main quests :P (the war table missions are the one with "investigate the white circle markings" and "identify the venatori double agent", names might not be really accurate. Both dissapear REALLY fast from war table if you don't activate them).
